This is DEFINITELY one of my all time favorite works for flute. While still being distinctly Mozart, it's like the Maestro went to a new level of genius. That second movement...😢😢😢 BEAUTIFULLY performed. His tone is so shimmery. Like looking at a lake reflecting a full moon. A fish jumps and the rings he creates are rippling and beautiful. I especially Love the conversation between flute and harp during the cadenzas. ❤❤❤ BRILLIANT.
The solos at 10:28 Andantino are sublime. I could listen to this recording every day. This performance is a great recording. The harp is incredibly beautiful. The flute is played with incredible accuracy. The flute taies a lot of wind and I am impressed with the ability to retain long notes. I love its sound quality and depth.
Great performance and absolutely Mozart life and music activity is God gave. Mozart flute K299 and 297c is two masterpieces Wolfgang A Mozart wrote for concerto Flute. Thanks for sharing wonderful video.
I like some of Mozart's earlier works just as much as his more mature, and well composed pieces. This is one of those. Full of youthfulness and lyricism, it is so enchanting. This harp sounds so much mellower than some other harp played on this piece, especially on high note which very often sounds tinny on some other performance.
One of my all time favorite pieces of music. It is glorious, flowing and richly rhymitical. The coalescence of the harp and flute, accompanied by the orchestra are heavenly and so soothing to the mind and soul. Need I say more?
The "tinnyness" can come from the player or the instrument--here we have Isabelle Moretti (a renowned harpist) and a Camac harp (that is most probably of reasonably good to very good quality), so any tinny sounds should not be expected here!
The andantino from minute 10.00 on must be the prettiest piece of music ever created in the world. I cannot get it out of my mind, it lives with me every minute of the day, and I am all the better for it
El segundo movimiento de este concierto es de una belleza sublime; toda la pieza es inigualable. Siempre he sido un admirador de Mozart y considero sus obras como perfectas. Sin que por esto desmerezca la calidad de otros grandes compositores.
Listening to all 12 of your uploads today, 25 October 2017. A pity you have had no new uploads for over three years, but I treasure what you have uploaded.
Hello! The whole performance is so great! A masterpiece in Harmony! at 11:06 I get a goose flesh from this maiden music! And when I see Mrs. Moretti playing the harp I start dreaming I could invite her for dinner! And later at this evening I would annoy her by begging to turn one of her productions I own into vinyl ;o) Gunthi, Austria
I have listened to a lot of classical flute and harp concerto's, but to my ears Mozart simply composed the best music for these instruments - it is simply beautiful - and this is a superb version and recording of this concerto
13:17 What I want to know is - did he accidentally play a wrong note, and the harpist cleverly copy it in 13:28??? I have never heard that note flattened!
I love Mozart. It is a pitty that Mozart him self did not like the harp. He would have wrote some firework for harp!!! This is beautifull performed by Isabelle and Philippe
+Janneke Sonneveld From what I had read, I thought that I had learned that the instrument that Mozart did not like at all was the flute, to the point that when Ferdinand de Jean commissioned him to compose four quartets for flute and three concertos for flute and orchestra, even it had been a good deal Mozart decided to adapt one of his oboe concertos that had previously composed, because he did not consider interesting to worry about inventing new concertos for that instrument, and also he never completed all the works he had been commissioned for, which motivated that Ferdinand paid him only a small part of what they had agreed.
