Oh, I'm so glad my video helped you make the decision! I don't think you would regret the purchase. For the price, it's a very good set and I was really pleased with it. I have some other sets with a similar price that were not nearly as good. Thank you for watching! My channel is new and your comment really made my day. Have a great weekend! And if you want to see a painting I did with this palette, it is one of my newer uploads.
Yes! I have not yet tried the Gansai, but I believe they are both Japanese watercolors and from what I can see, they have a similar look. Do you like the Gansai paints?
@@KateMilesArt i do like using them since they behave quite uniquely. but you can't layer them a lot since they reactivate easy. so they can be trickey. i personally have used the Kuretake ones. which are very decent. i have seen the Kissho ones on some Japanese art youtube channels. so i think it just depends on which ones you want to track down.
I haven't heard of the Kissho watercolors, I'll have to look them up! Thanks for the tip 🙂 I was choosing some watercolors to try and opted for Marie's Masters, but maybe one of those will be next. I have enjoyed the Komorebi colors and I still use them quite often. Have you tried using different paper for with yours to help prevent as much lifting?
@@KateMilesArt glad to have helped in a way. I have used cheap watercolor paper and more expensive watercolor paper with em. Could just be me. But it was my experience.
Yes, that was helpful 🙂 I just got a small palette of Derwent Inktense pans wanting to try them sometime soon. I think those dry permanent, which I imagine would layer very well. I have a vintage tin of their watercolor pencils that I really love and so I wanted to try another product of theirs. I haven't used Inktense before, but my understanding is that they behave similar to watercolor. Have you ever tried those?
I'm so glad you found the video helpful! I have a whole playlist of videos with this palette so take a look and you can see how the paint performs. It's a great palette for beginners. Happy creating! 💜
