Thank you for posting this brilliant and absolutely delightful production. All performers, including the orchestra, were outstanding. Malin Hertelius, the Contessa, was superb.
I really hate opera in modern dresses and staging. Peter Sellars started that bullshit and now every opera stages that way. Better do concert versions in this case and save public money.
I know! I go to the opera to see a thing of the past, (and because the music is beautiful) not to be thrown into a weird combination of old music and modern visuals

I just don't get this modernizing of operas. Why destroy a great opera. No matter how good the singing is, this ruins it. Sorry to say, but Mozart would be appalled at this production. To me this doesn't cut it.
Please, let's go back to proper mise-en-scènes: the narcissism of art directors is not edgy anymore, it's boring and philistinistic: "oh, let's make a remake of "Battleship Potemkin" happening in an office! 💡"
