It's a tribute to the astonishing intricacy of Mozart's orchestration and the boundless fertility of his musical imagination that this actually works as a chamber performance. Beautifully played too, especially by Beijer who seems alert to every detail that passes under his fingers.

I play this... I'll have to remember this combo... absolutely sensational... REALLY beautiful music making... thanks for sharing this... This... might by my favorite of all twenty three...??? maybe..??? and Thomas... you play this SOOO beautifully!!! every notes sings... taper off phrases... just a little lite rubato where needed... and your sound... so warm and pure... Mozart would have LOVED this performance!!!!!

Voici la vidéo d’un concert très particulier. Elle a été enregistrée, il y a moins d’une semaine, au Concertgebouw d’Amsterdam. Il n’y a pas de public ce qui donne une acoustique très particulière et l’orchestre est remplacé par un septuor de cordes et vents (flûte et clarinette). L’interprétation, empreinte de délicatesse et de rigueur, est absolument parfaite. Il faut dire que l’œuvre interprétée en vaut la peine. Il s’agit du 23ème concerto pour piano de Mozart, composé en 1787 à Vienne, que Messiaen considérait comme le plus parfait des concertos de Mozart. Le second mouvement est célébrissime et on ne peut y rester insensible. Fermez les yeux et écoutez, vous êtes à Vienne avec Mozart et ses amis...

Nunca vi este concerto de Mozart acompanhado apenas de 7 instrumentistas, e sem assistência. Mas está lá tudo para ser um grande concerto. Parabéns. O teatro está vazio, mas nesta Nova Era, em que o espaço encolheu e o tempo se confinou, toda a Humanidade vos poderá estar aqui a ouvir para sempre. Martz Inura

If I remember correctly, Charles Rosen wrote that Mozart used to "advertise" as "a quattro" some of his piano concerts for chamber group . Its easier to sell these scores. They are more suitable for domestic use.

Very good, but sorry, I prefer a real orchestra, and not only when the pianist plays. The work is not chamber music, it is in the spirit of a concerto.
