Thank You So Much Kogan for posting this longer version. I always wanted to know what came after the 10:02 time. I truly love this piece played by Ivo. I play it often before going to bed to relax me. I always have the feeling that I am supposed to remember something when listening to this...something beautiful, but never can quite catch the memory.
@OverFjell Hi. I was too sick to get back sooner. Just wanted to say Good Luck on learning this piece. Hope you pass with flying colors. Most of all, enjoy playing it. Many, many years ago I used to buy seasons tickets to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) and used to go every sunday. It was my greatest joy! But I can no longer afford it as they very expensive now. They have priced themselves out of my reach, and I dare say a lot of others as well.
@Cybelle2006 Hmm, perhaps you misconstrue my meaning, have you not heard music that makes you think of childhood even without them being music from your childhood? Indeed some music is written for that purpose, like Schumann's Kinderszenen, indeed I only heard this piece a few years ago, but I find it to be a very nostalgic piece.
@OverFjell Nope, not from childhood as I never heard it then. I never heard Mozart music until I was well into my 20's. I believe it is a memory of another life. That may sound strange to you, but I have had memories that are not of this life. Isn't life strange??
@Cybelle2006 Okay, I did a quick search on my saved videos. It was "Sahara" by David Worth. So, in this case it wasn't the music that caused the episode, rather it was the video that replicated the event, after the event. I am a senior female 60+ y.o. and not superstitious, but all this sent my mind into overdrive you might say. :-)
@OverFjell I understand what you mean now. But it still doesn't do it that way for me. Sorry. :-) It still takes me, what I feel to be, to another dimension. I had an awake episode of being in another dimension. Then "after" that, I came across a piece of music by someone on RU-vid and it depicted my experience of "where" it happened. I was stunned to say the least. I will let you know the name of the video when I find it again.
@OverFjell Isn't life just a barrel of mysteries? There is much more to this "event" that I had, but it is so difficult to explain the true feeling of it that I wouldn't even try. I have also had several other experiences over my lifetime, but that too is hard to explain. Perhaps I should consult a "specialist" in that area. Maybe one day..?...?... Are you a musician or a person who enjoys classical music? I am not a musician.
Se fossi Pogorelich, anch'io farei il "filosofo" sull'esposizione. Ci sta, è un pezzo tardo-classico, essere rigidi (come molti altri interpreti) non ha alcun senso, e poi il tema è fresco, immediato, dolce ma non affettato, "mozartiano" in una sola parola, e Pogorelich rende perfettamente quest'aspetto.
