Tanzanian are low key People and Country. They don't brag or talk but action. Every time I return to Dar or Mwanza is something new. Tanzanian love been African, their sense of pride, Patrioticism is one of its kind in African Continent. I travel from Dar to Arusha by road. I was amazed with their road. The massive infrastructure, in Dar and their City bus is among the best in World. One things I love about Tanzanian and the Country thier law and order.
Thank you Farah Maalim it's true.Kenyans don't see beyond their stomachs and noses. The other day I saw a lorry full of pineapples from Tanzania in the ferry coming into Kenya.Kenya is like that beautiful lady who forgets that there are even more beautiful ladies out there.
@@mpendakiswahili3053 I'm not sure what you are trying to imply here, however these countries are doing well and are on track to achieve their goals, that being said the Kenyan economy is far more complex than most economies around the region, take Ethiopia with has grown and nearly caught up in size to Kenya and will go on to be the larger economy if they keep it up, Nairobi will continue to be the regional kingpin due to the underlying infrastructures in finance, hospitality, energy etc....again we all want a prosperous Africa, however it's important to understand where we stand you can't compare an orange and a banana...
@@kennyaga3241 for a regular guy you make sense, but to someone with deeper understanding, nop..... your measuring development by looking at the size of of a country and the GDP ....ok .. with your arguement.... between india and Qatar who would you say is far better off ....
Instead of comparing Kenya's GDP with Tanzania, Uganda or any other EAC country, compare your self with our real enemies coz any EAC that will develop will benefit the whole region. So review your argument boss. Anyway thank you Kenya for representing EAC. Much love from Uganda
Kenya fiscal policies have been cartel-based rather than Tz's citizens-based, few connected Kenyans are stealing from Government to build fancy establishments making Kenya appear to be enormously developing. The situation is further worsen by massive borrowing to fund infrastructure projects. Kenya tunaringa na vitu vya loans na uwizi.
That's a stupid wheelbarrow argument. Infrastructure growth spruces up the economy in all areas. Any politician investing locally believes in this country. The likes of Sugoi and his wash-wash and changaa brewing friends are the biggest enemies to growth. The capitalistic nature is good when there is fair play. Tanzania is finally abandoning the ujamaa nonsense and encouraging positive capitalism.
Tanzania has focused policies regarding agriculture, forestry, mining and many other sectors. Tanzania has no arid areas, no cattle rustling, no bandits and no tribalism. If you ask me, Tanzania has already overtaken us economically. It is only their honesty that shows we are ahead.
Accepting English and being proud of speaking English which is not African language means you are still under colonization. Tanzania was colonized by British as well and English was the language of the nation once but was Ditched as a part of refusing been colonized forever. Swahili language indicates patriotism and NOT weakness or less development of the country. Continue seeing yourself as an English man while you in a black Skin thinking is the language that will change Kenya to become England. Huo ni ujinga kuringia lugha za watu.
Tanzanian government has always been citizen based. Their blend of capitalism and socialism has worked well for them. Mind you, it's a very massive country, but all regional headquarters have stadiums, airports, and such since Mwalimu's time. Before 2010 we only had Nyayo, City and Kasaa as stadia in the whole nation. It tells a lot about us.

Kenya rose from 11th richest country in Africa in 2012, to 6th in 2021 (3rd in Sub Saharan Africa after Nigeria and South Africa). We just slipped back to 7th this past September due to Angola overtaking us during our elections.
Elections is not a reason . corruption is the key reason since Kenya loose 3 bilion Kenya shilling every day due to corruption. Calculating the amount in a year it Simply that's the different amount between Kenya and Angola GDP
@@captainfokker3951 Every election year around the months of the election itself, our economy dips, since at least 1992. Maybe with the exception of 2002. I don't disagree that corruption hurts us (unlike Ruto who surprisingly said in 2015 on Citizen TV, that he doesn't believe that corruption can stop a country from developing). The figure quoted by Uhuru was KShs 2b daily
@@billyruita8155 both IMF and Statista say Angola GDP was at 124b in 2022. Though I'm not sure how they jumped from 69b the year prior. Doesn't make sense, and I didn't hear anything about them rebasing their GDP. Where are you getting your _2022_ data from?
CAP! Our GDP is well over 110 billion USD Tanzania's GDP as per the world bank statistics is at 67 billion USD (Just a little bit over half of ours) Our Annual GDP growth rate is at 7.5 whilst Tanzania's is at 4.3(again we almost double theirs). The Honorable Member Farah Maalim Ought to check the facts. Despite poor governance Kenyans are naturally hardworking and we strive hard that's why our economy is the largest in East and Central Africa.
Our GDP is at 117 Billion USD and is projected to be above 150-160 Billion USD by 2027. The only country that will overtake Kenya is Ethiopia and is projected to reach 190 Billion USD
You forgot to also say much of Kenya gdp is build on fake and exaggerated figures, just like the inflation numbers. and also distorted by the level of corruption and greed. Hence you have substandard houses costing equal or more then those in 1st world countries. Bure kabisa
Looks like he's lying.Googled W/Bank and Statista data say this: Kenya GDP 2015 and 2022 - $70.12 billion and $114.38 billion translating to 63% increase. Tanzania GDP 2015 and 2022 - $47.38 billion and $ 76.58 billion translating to 61.8% increase. Projected GDP 2027: Kenya $157 billion Tanzania 121.31 billion. Both countries are growing at an almost identical pace. Tanzania's transformation is more apparent because it was a little behind.
TZs economy should be much larger than Kenya's given that they have more people, a larger land mass, probably more mineral resources & the same tourist attractions that are in Kenya.
Actually tz has more tourist attractions than us, by far....3 of the biggest fresh water lakes, Kilimanjaro, ngorongoro, the biggest national parks, Zanzibar.... they have too much....
What is wrong with Africa is instead of collectively working to develop ourselves, we’re constantly competing against ourselves. Who cares if one country has more gdp than another if every citizen of various countries are satisfied with their standard of living ?

Farah is speaking as an opposition MP. Do not take him seriously on this matter. World Bank data is different from the sourse he is quoting from. However, he has a point about the growing competitiveness of Tanzania's economy. With factories closing and relocating from Kenya on grounds of cost of power and corruption index, foreign investments, and importing more and more from Kenya, There is enough competition from Tanzania to make Kenya burn the midnight oil. But with increased taxation, suspended infrastructure development, and politicians of impeachable character holding seniormost government positions, Kenya's economy is for sure gonna shrink.
Uhuru Kenyatta was the worst thing to happen to Kenya. Kibaki left a very robust economy that rewarded effort regardless of class but Uhuru promoted dynasties.
Are commenting out of ignorance or spite?Ruto was in the same government with Uhuru.Successes and failures of Jubilee govt are equally apportioned to them.
@@vonmaina One doesn't have to compare themselves with others.Poverty is a mind set which we inherited from independence and especially in Africa. All cars use the same roads regardless of the model, there no specific ones for the rich or poor.
Let me repeat this here: Kenya rose from 11th richest country in Africa in 2012 at the end of Kibaki's reign, to 6th in 2021 (3rd in Sub Saharan Africa after Nigeria and South Africa). We just slipped back to 7th this past September due to Angola overtaking us during our elections. Those guys just came yesterday. Blame uhuru who inflated all projects to his own benifit Do u know the wealth of uhuru's family alone is more than half of total kenyans wealth
It's true for the last decade we Tanzania imported most industrial products from Kenya like salt, juice, soap, match box and ect,but now Tanzania has more of those factories and we now have to find external markets that is the reason why we import less from Kenya.

Tanzania is not overtaking kenya anytime soon, source the world bank reports, this kenyans supporting farah's narrative have maybe never stepped out of this country, tbe only thing that makes me feel bad is seeing the importation of food that we do from tanzania, plus how we are now buying more from tham, we need to stop subdividing land, especially in fertile areas
The difference between these folks numbers is mostly likely GDP nominal vs GDP, PPP (purchasing power parity). They should be aware and therefore use single criteria, either nominal or PPP, for credible comparison.
Check the estimated population of Tanzania by 2075. You have a giant across the border Kenya. That by the way loves you like family. What is wrong with us both being rich?
Those are projections. Tanzania economy and its GDP are underrated. To date if the W/B and IMF rate Tanzania right where it belongs, Tanzania GDP is about 130 billion and Not the current 85 billion.
Very very thru. Individual ownership of assets is well beyond many countries in Africa. Now Everything is reversed. Do you remember Tanzanians used to visit Kenya for fun and business now Kenyans are visiting Tanzania 10 times the no. to buy stuff and have fun.
Ledama does Not know the current Tanzania, he still thinks of 1947 Tanzania like some other Kenyans who have not agreed that TZ is already overtook the East Africa countries by Far.
Two dwarfs countries economically.Kenya is just on real estate business and gentrification,Rich agricultural lands turning to concrete towers.Tanzania production is going up but in kenya is south.cost of living in kenya is expensive than in Tanzania
In the 60's Kenya GDP was five times that of Tanzania, now it's less than twice. But that's the benefit of working and moving together. When each country is in the middle income we shall all better off. Never have a poor neighbor, he will be a liability to you.
2000-2005 Tanzania was leading east africa and we are not bragging,,we dont care we move,we don't compete,we don't talk rubbish,,you people should mind your own business.

Friendly and Constructive competition, Whether in Music, Sports or Business or any other is the best for development. So keep it up EAC. Thats why most Communist countries failed with their state driven Economy, vs the West which has Market driven Economies were competition is very high. Except for China which adopted Market driven economy that developed very fast because regional competition was also encouraged by the Govt Same goes for EAC's region vs SADC vs ECOWAS and others, regional competition will help to fast-track Africa's economy. Same goes for competition within the EAC, has made EAC the fastest developing region in Africa.
If I am not wrong we still have high remittance than any county in EA. Most of the imported goods enable Kenya's market to continue hence more taxes and income. Not to mention the imported goods from UG and TZ is from investors or remittances. Taking stuff to Kenya means more economic growth us.
Who cheated you?,this thing is killing our economy you better be informed,tz economy is growing at a fast speed because they export more goods to Kenya while we import almost everything, the exports pumps more money in their country hence growing their GDP while that of Kenya is stagnating at 110 to 115$d while that of tz has grown twice as it was in 2015,our country is joking it is just corruption during the day and night,tz will overtake our sleeping Kenya, I'm a Kenyan and nit happy with our leaders
