MPC 1000 for beginners Song mode and audio cut off problems (Tutorial)

@daboulkioutaw If your using song mode, there is an option to save to wav file. That should keep your Kits from changing. Then just load your wave file to an audio track in a new sequance and set your bpm to the value on the old sequance. Then you can keep on adding more layers.

@Orgavin I believe you can record it as midi out then feed the midi in. Not sure I've never actually need to do it.

the best most original way is to go crate digging and chop some sample breaks. Other than that though, you can download sample packs that many people have used before, or create your own samples using different software, e.g kontakt (it has many different virtual instruments that you can play and sample).

this is very helpful, i dont have pro tools so ive been recording into audacity but this seems alot easier. hey if all my samples are set to mono but theyre not in the same mute group they shouldnt cut eachither off right?

Well there in mono so the sample will cut off the play of the previous sample. If that makes scenes.

Hey Onelonedork, great Videos, they're really helping me out a lot. Thanks! Now, i have one question and i was hoping you could answer it: once i converted my sequences to a song, all of the tracks are completely scrambled up. Everything is out of order. I also noticed, that there is no "thru" visable on the top part of the display. Any ideas of what could be the problem?

Question, When in song mode, can i send a stem to each output? For Instance, If I have 6 mono audio tracks that I've sampled into the MPC1000, can I send one to left, one to right and 4 more out of the assignable outs? Or at least 1 stereo and then 4 tracks to the remaining outputs? I know you can send the sample to the assignable outs but I want to make sure that I can do this in song mode for audio stems. Onelonedork whats good man sorry ive had a lot of questions lately! anyway what is this about the 32 note thing ive had problems with that where ive layed down a bunch of drums and the note count is up to 31 and i make another program for my samples and it cant take in all the information so it starts cutting my samples at certain parts in the sequence where i might have several hits at one time? should i make several different programs like maybe 2 or 3 for the drums and so on? thanks again LS

I have a quick question. at around 1.45 you managed to bring up a screen that shows the amount of polyphony the mpc is taking up during play back. I have installed JJOS 3.16 but can't seem to find that screen. any ideas ? thanks for your help, J

I find it easier to convert my 'SONG' to 'SEQ' and then record it into Pro Tools rather than to go into record mode and reocording as a sample. It's a faster way of getting it onto your computer.

I can't understand two details. - Is each track monophonic or polyphonic? - Could a single sample be triggered from different notes at the same time (play chords)?

is it possible to record midi data sequenced on the mpc when recording the main output as well?

so converting all my drum kits to mono wil keep the number of samples playing at once below 32 because they wont overlap? you have a really nice camera btw

I still can't actually get sound out of my pads, i don't know if i'm doing something wrong or what. they are loaded and programmed, i can hear them before they load by pressing F5 before the "Do it!" Key. but when i press the assigned pad I get nothing out of it

I juz got a fully expanded Mpc 1000 & M-Audio keystation 61 .. My problem is I can get the controller to send & recieve MIDI data to the presonus audio box by itself with no problems but when I run the MIDI from my controller N2 the in & back out the Mpc to my Audio box I having problems with the MIDI configs on the Mpc as well as the audio box ??

when i save my program (a loop that I chopped) on MPC memory and when I load It my samples don't cut off each other (A1 cut's off A1 but A1 doesn't cut off A2) why? what I have to do?
