Hey man I wasn’t feeling none off the new mpc’s after the 2000xl, anyways 2 weeks ago I decided to take the dive and brought a mpc live 2. Man was I blown away, so late to the party. Lol it’s amazing.

@@VeracityTT No fam, it'll be an already digital audio going to an analog interface. The sample is already a saved WAV file; ie Digital. 'Truly Pure Analog' would be like; Recording vocals with an Analog MIC or an Electric Guitar DI signal through an Analog Interface, imprinted on some type of analog medium like Cassette Tape or Vinyl. And for the listeners to get the Pure Analog experience they would need an Analog Tape or Vinyl Player. But this entire debate is silly and a waste of time and energy. Given that most of the reasons we love the sound of analog can be replicated with digital effects plugin like XLN Audio RC20 or better yet Modeling of actual analog gear like IK Multimedia T-Racks.
@@VeracityTT In the end Digital give it to you RAW or as RAW as it gets for the time being. And the quality is CONSISTENT. Then you can add your own desired effects using plugins or even some recording techniques. That is what makes Digital precious in my opinion. Compared to Analog where what you get is what you get and it's wildly inconsistent. Virtually any analog gear will sound different (even if slightly) each time you use it; as it ages, depending on the environment (is it Hot, is it Cold), etc. I am speaking as a hardcore lover and practitioner of Old School/Lofi Boom Bap But, we mustn't let nostalgia prevent us from acknowledging the truth and act accordingly.
@@entmedias4965 wow - finally a true answer. People don’t understand the only difference is the converters, that’s it. People just don’t sample no more. Just coping mp3 files and saying “I miss that sound”. Of course you do - hook your phone to the analog input and sample - booom! And for the live - just go in hot with the phono input and boom. Kids need to check it and don’t eye for the older models, this girl can do it all and more

If you do not need the built in speakers and CV outs go with the original Live. You can get great deals on them and they travel the best out of all the units.
@@dandanndannnnnn The CV ports allow you to connect the MPC to a modular synth collection. If you search modular synthesis here on RU-vid you will see some crazy stuff.
Right! What is it about making hip-hop/rap that makes folks want to knock somebody else's process? "You didn't sample that off vinyl", "FL Studio 10 is better than FL21", "You should use FL instead of..." Damn...just make music!
Dope video! I bought the drum kits last week and am loving them so far. Lately I have been wanting an MPC, although I have no experience with that kind of gear. Living vicariously watching you cook up!
@@MvnStn i hear that, i have the maschine studio. i like the work flow but it is nothing like an mpc. i'm going for that live 2. i will keep this but i probably won't use it after i get that mpc.
@@jayfiya5230 yea the main reason mine has dust is bc I could barely get it to work with FL, and even then it was very limited. Basically a midi keyboard, which I already have.. lol And I hear ya on not using Maschine after using the Live 2 lol. Good luck!

I'm surprised you didnt get the "limited edition" retro version. Since that seems like the most popular version. But I prefer the regular black version.

I concur, brother. I initially got the Live 1 to toy around with away from the desktop... fast-foward to today and my Live 2 is now the central part of my setup. Most of the time it is the only piece of gear I turn on to start coming up with ideas and several sequences. Now I have a hardcase to take it out on errands, sit in my car, and scratch out more ideas... midi keyboard and headphones are optional!
@@creativegreats6924 … very few differences between the two. The speaker comes in handy and it added the 4 shared cv/gates ports. That’s what I can think of off the top of my head… timing was on my side to swap the MPC Lives. I just returned the Live 1 for the Live 2.
@@GrayGhostDog1 What about software updates between the live 1 and live 2? Also what about the screen lag ? Does the live 2 have a more responsive screen ?
@@creativegreats6924 Same updates... I've never had any issues with screen responsiveness of either. I think there is no difference in screen quality or performance.
Man Bolo, been following you few months now and have enjoyed every vid. I have a MPC Studio Black but think I will be upgrading to the MPC Live ||. Issue I'm currently having with the studio is I can only use it on my desktop PC. Can't use it on my new Macbook because the Macbook only has USB-C ports. The USB to USB-C adapters are not working. It powers the Studio but it won't open the interface. In that case a standalone unit may be better for when I'm traveling.
@@BoloDaProducer that’s understandable I worked on one the process was smoother but the live 2 u can put it in the book bag and go can got to work where ever that’s what I love about it like you say they are both good choices 💯💯
Love your video's. Got a question for you. I worked with a few rappers. A few of them wasn't feeling my beats. Do you think this will give me better beats?
When rookie trap producers use samples, should they use sampled drums, instead of synthesized? It takes experience to make samples and synthesis sound like they blend in the same space
