Yeah man I'm glad I got my hands on one finally it reminds me of the workflow of an old Yamaha rs7000 so I'm right at home with this and I can't wait to show how to hook this thing up with the MPC X.
@@PoliPopo Nice bro! Yeah, I had a little time with it during NAMM and it definitely fit my workflow as expected. I LOVE how the X looks and operates but the Force definitely speaks to my workflow a bit more honestly. Be interesting to see how you use them together. I thought maybe just recording everything as audio into the Force, using the X for samples/drums could be a good way. But really, I could do everything with the Force lol. It would just be shame to let that sexy X collect dust. And I def prefer the button/control layout there. But found I quickly got used to the shortcuts on the Force. It definitely reminds me a bit of using the Live in terms of navigation. Looking forward to your thoughts!
I am slowly learning the Force. Most powerful and complex device I’ve ever owned. The sheer firepower is mind blowing. I considered the MPC, but the price difference sold me the Force.
The force is a very powerful machine indeed and it can manipulate audio tracks fairly easily what you going to want to do first is open your mixer select 8tracks and assign instruments to each track this way you don't have to stop your workflow 💯
Mpc live with a force 2 techies 1200 next to em with an analogue drum machine and a small fx modular all out on a mackie 16vlz ..music for the next 2000 yrs . Akai is killing it and i used to be a hater till i gave the mpc the hours and months attention it needed during those non stop lockdowns
Hey Poli. Love your vids. I wanted to hear what you thought of my setup. I am intermediate guitar player with a sprinkle of songwriting/producing. I am super focused on not letting the gear get in the way of the guitar. I wanted a box that I could use as a sketch pad and be super powerful and not take me away from the musical idea. Stay focused on the guitar and the musical idea without getting distracted by the shinny flashing light. With that in mind, the Force has been amazing. I am slowing learning my way around. As I am progressing from the practice, doodle mode more into the songwriting mode was wondering if you thought that Mpc x would be more suitable. Looks like the software in the Akai is very similar and things would be pretty easy to learn this time. Another option would be to add Ableton on a laptop but I am really enjoying only one toy in front of me. more music-playing, less tweeking-playing. Also, I travel a lot and can't really settle into a band situation so I am using the Force as kinda friend to play music with.
@@PoliPopo cool. coming from an acoustic guitar and old man at same time. most things on force seem pretty electronic but I'm determined that this thing will suit me. fun as hell. thank PO. keep up these good vids.
Nice comparison. But I think I'll stay with my mpc live because of the size and because of the pads. The live seems to make more sense to me for my kind of workflow. But I think it depends on everyones taste and preferences.
Couldn't have said it better myself, I think at this point it's more about preference and being comfortable with your workflow. I really like the MPC live I just wish I could mute out audio tracks with the pads the same way I can with my plugins
Which one would you say has the fastest workflow? I really got my mind set on an mpc live, but I'll tell you what, I am really considering a force. I just don't like that the screen is so much higher than the pads. It just looks really awkward. I wish they would have made the mpc live like the force with the screen and the pads in the middle like the x, but alot smaller than the force.
If you have tracks that you want to remix horario tracks that you want to put on each pad and call up in lifetime the force is great. It also allows you to see your song layout from top to bottom which is also cool so you can put 64 samples on those pads pretty cool..., However. Even if that live or the X take a little longer to do what you want which doesn't take much time at all it gives you more control over your work. If I had to choose all over again between the live and the fours I would definitely go with the I hope this helps 💯
For a long time I wanted the Force, mainly due to the price, but after seeing an MPC X for £800, I snapped it up before I had a chance to talk myself out of it. My MPC arrived yesterday. I'm not composing anything, just going through the menus, trying all the different instruments. You got rid of the force since this vid?
Cool video. On the Force can you record your performance? Either recorded to the hard drive or a record out on the back? To record your live performances would be a valuable tool for an artist for promotions.
I'll do that next thank you sir I've learned quite a bit about the force and the MPC and I'm planning on putting up a few good videos very soon thanks for watching.
can you please show off EVERY feature of hype synth? people have only been showing off presets and the macro page lol i want to see the in depth features of hype synth :)
Now that's a powerhouse.. Ableton and the push two are probably the same price and can probably keep up just fine with the new Force I hope to utilize this thing with Ableton eventually but for right now the mpcx in Ableton is where it's at
Honestly I'm really impressed with the sounds on the Akai Force the hype Synth is the only difference so far the MPC has all the other plugins. I love the workflow though it's super fast and fun
Im really wanting to buy the force but everyone thinks its gonna get revampd soon so do you think a guy should wait or will any changes be minimal you think?
The force is a work horse. They will always update and I believe it will get better and better 🙏. It lacks a song mode at the moment and it's a little different workflow than the MPC. It is fast and effective for making music and remixing.
Poli Popo Poli Popo thank you, you definitely do a good job breaking things down. Videos are to the point. So as someone who hates dealing with computer setups, does it make more sense to shell out the money for the mpc x? I want to make music for sure. But my creativity spawns randomly and i cant be confined to a desk in one particular place. If the force can eventually make songs, i dont mind the tediousness of figuring out vague buttons and i could figure it out. But if the X will always have an upperhand on production, id rather save more money.
That my friend is a toss-up I would try to go play each one and see which workflow you prefer. I like them both however MPC all the way. I'll definitely try to do another comparison video soon. And the MPC live is pretty cool too...
Poli Popo i think im sold on the mpc x after seeing your followup video from last month. Also when you say "theres nothing i cant do with the mpc x" i can sense the honesty. Keep up the good work ill probably paypal you for help after i get it lol. Btw the Mpc Live doesnt seem standalone enough correct me if im wrong Id have to invest in my computer and buy expensive software to compete with the x.
What did you want to use my phone that link in the description that throwing a little kickback right on there man I'm going to get back to it I'll hit you later
No cap, I think you're in gear lust mode right now. You're giving the Force way too much credit too early and comparing it to the MPC series. It's not meant to be in the same lane as the MPC. Hence the reason why it's not called MPC Force. I'd say give it some time so that you can give it a legitimate unbiased review.
It's a tough call man I like them all since the update 2.4 the exes flawless, and they just dropped 3.1 for the force but I'm still waiting for the Ableton link integration
@@bobbyc6982 yeah and I like the fact actually I love the fact that you can record straight into it and mute it from the pads. In the MPC sequence I would have to delete them out pretty much same result but I do like the fast workflow on the force
Bro I had the Renaissance it's pretty much the same setup minus the 10 inch screen you have all the q links and everything but I understand and you will not be disappointed if you get the Akai Force you'll still be able to use your Renaissance with it but I sure do love my mpcx
I'll definitely check it out from what I can I see looks like it should but to get the picture to populate and everything I'll have to see how about that hopefully by the end of the day
Yes so far with each individual pad has its own timing so One clip can be longer than the other as far as no-repeat for drums I'm sure that's possible too but have not tested it
I see your point now that I've had this box for a few days however those were just my first impressions new to this kind of workflow and it is super fast
