rza's and Dre's success has to do with primacy. Everyone knows the earlier you are to something, your advantage over the peers is huge. They also were running with the right people(talented and committed)... And they were talented and committed themselves.
@@djgreenhornet2892 the samples are not the issue. Doing something musical, original and plain good is. They might've used other samples had they presented themselves to them(of similar style and vibe), and their shit would still be dope because they're talented like that; that they are just capable of creating good shit. As a musician the most important thing is musicality. If you were to do similar stuff today it would definitely get attention. It wouldn't become as massive as Dre's and rza's because it's been done before, but it will get recognition (if marketed and performed etc.), And that's where primacy comes in. "Yeah you're good and you'll get your share, but it's not innovative so..."
I think about this quite often also. I owe my whole livelihood to getting apps in the App Store and Google Market(now Play Store) early. I don't think my games are all that great, I just got there first. People just got used to playing them now, I guess. So I understand about being there first. And 92 - 94 is probably when sampling first became mainstream. Dre got to most of the drum loop first and RZA next level sampling was early in the game too.
"Limitations can spark creativity" That's why I still record on a 4 track tape machine. If the music, mixing, and performance is not right, it will definitely show you up, big time!!
lol i thought the same thing the first time i was hands on, on a X. Dude no click button select? I end up holding my hand a certain way so i can scroll and then hit enter with my thumb. i was going to grab one as well, i was bummed to see the multi month wait! i wonder if you do the payment plan on zzounds if they would allow early payments before it ships, that way i could slowly pay it off as I wait for it. *edit* How is the big screen on the mpc 1000? I have been considering doing this for years lmao, plus that sample you use is kind of fire?
The black knobs q- links I think are a nod to the renaissance, they were black on that and it had 16 of them too. It is really a nod to them all, not just the 3000 like some seem to think.. anyway that is how's I see it. I don't mind them black.. the screen surround is black too.
Curious did you consider a used MPC X? You could have saved a heck of a lot of money on it especially since yours was from overseas. [Didn't get to the part of the video yet when I asked]
@@ppic7162 Apparently because buttons. I think the only reason the smaller MPCs have it is bc of space restraints. You have two ways to select, the ‘enter’ button on the number pad and the center arrow button. I’m actually glad bc I believe the data dial is higher quality because it doesn’t click. It’s smooth, you know what I mean
Yeah, I'm an addict. I could be addicted to a bunch of "other more stuff" though. This obsession is healthy until I get to the point where I can't send the kids to college. LOL!
honestly i got multiple as well, im crazy tho i hook them shits together and make some crazy shit with pad mutes and track mutes between them. also one can sequence outboard gear while the other does in box sounds. It can save time on menu diving etc etc if you wanna try and do it all out of one box.
I feel like they are money in bank. Especially the older ones. I lost my shirt on that Crypto stuff in 21 and 22. I would been better off buying old MPCs and just sitting on them. Most of the older ones prices are holding steady. Once I'm tired of them I just sell them on Ebay or Reverb.
its based on a design , the 2016 X that's older than the other stuff. they started adding the Click after the X. so its not that its meant, they hadn't thought about it yet.
