Those silly comments... Can’t understand why all you English speakers are SO ENGLIIIIIISH!!! Can’t you just think both Naega and Ni-ga is OK in Korean? They’re native Korean speakers and whether they said Naega or Niga, they must have never meant it Nigga! Koreans actually don’t use it for jokes as English speakers!! It’s not part of our culture!!!!!!! Plus, if Niga is not OK, English-speaking singers should not use “Shake it” or “Sheaver” while visiting Korea ‘cause they sound similar to “Ssaekki” and “Ssibal” which are very harsh 4-letter-words Koreans usually avoid using for lyrics!!! One more SO ENLGIIISH MOMENT. It’s so funny that most of non-English speakers try to learn foreign languages when they are big fans of foreign singers or actors, while English speakers just write down comments like “ENGLISH PLZ!!!” on K-pop videos in RU-vid!!!!! Why can’t you concern of the other option that you learn a foreign language??? +) Of course, Jun and The8 are not native Korean speakers. But that’s not the point.
So this is very late but i am pretty sure those people arent carats... Probably just trolls. And if not then just very young fans that don't know any better.
"ma naega" = "Boy, I am" in daegu (slang) satoori... he was word playing that finished to "MAMAae ganda aiga" which ends with "going to MAMAs".... so the whole sentence means "Boy, I am going to MAMAs" ...YOU CAN ALL GO HOME NOW. BRING PEACE IN 2016.
@@anj6958 wut lol that's part of their language. It means ''I''. You're stoopid and delusional. If Koreans would get sued for saying ''I'' then they would all be in jail.
they’re just stating phrases or words that start with the syllable “ma”. why would they say “ma naega” and then dap each other up, which is a thing black people do? and why would they get so excited at just “boy i’m going to mamas”? it doesn’t make any sense. you know what they were trying to do
THEY LOOK SUPER YOUNG HERE !!!! AND THE ENERGIES UNTILL NOW ITS STILL THE SAME , I LOVES IT. THEIR FRIENDSHIP GETTING CLOSE YEAR BY YEAR. EVEN I'M NOT A CARAT FROM THE FIRST DAY SEVENTEEN DEBUT BUT I CAN FEEL THE PASSIONATE, LOVE, ENERGY, HAPPINESS FROM THEM. SEVENTEEN FIGHTING I LOVE YOU. LET'S WORK HARD TOGETHER !!
i'm gonna say this and clarify this abit. at 1:55 , many people accused Seungcheol of saying " my ni**a ". first of all, before you "fans" try to accuse him, there are actually subtitles below what he is saying. the subtitles say " 마 ... 내가 " and the meaning is nowhere near what you guys think. it actually means like " man... i " and not any bad meaning. secondly , if you guys do not understand korean, please do not jump to conclusions. i myself am not very fluent in korean as i just started learning. but if you guys thought you heard something wrongly , the least you can do is to go to naver translate or even google translate to clarify it! since there are subs written, you dont even have to think hard and you can just key it in to translate site !! and fyi " 내가 " is always used as a form of saying " i " or "myself". it has appeared in almost all kpop songs. it doesn't mean that if both things sound similar , it means the same thing. ( and in this case i think it doesn't sound similar at all ) Lastly , to all the people on twitter who directly tweeted pledis about this matter , and also said seventeen was " problamatic " , you guys need to think twice before you do these kinds of things. just because of some rumours you guys should not act rashly. plus , if you think about it , if they really said " my ni**a " ( which i highly doubt they will really...) do you think pledis will actually allow it to be online?? please think twice before spreading rumours or accusing people. as an international kpop fan, i understand that we do not know korean , but we should at least find out the truth before spreading hate. please spread this ~ and you can ask me if you didn't understand anything( about this ) i'll try to clarify. have a nice day ^^
yes also the boys got excited when seungcheol said 마 내가 because it's satoori( dialect) Gyeongsangdo dialect is so popular in kr and girls loves that dialect a lot and most of ppl get excited when some1 said that out of sudden Not all of koreans know dialect ^^ to most of ppl from upper s.kor, it's strange and seems so cool so Stop dragging svt because they got excited when he used that saturi
It's gotten to the point where i think instead of defending/accusing and arguing everyone should just calm down and wait for svt or pledis to comment shits too crazy on Twitter
+Rachel Beatrice No, he purposely said it that way because it sounds like "My N*gga" in English. He knew what he was saying. Ma naega just means "my i" or "me, I" and that doesn't make any sense.
+dstacie He used SATOORI. Ma is satoori for hey/you/yo, naega means I. The other word he said is "gonna go to mama". Basically he said "Yo! i'm gonna go to mama" so literally IT ALL MAKES SENSE
+Seventeen's Trash The word “마 내가” (Ma Naega) does - contrary to most tweets by internationals - make sense in Korean. The word “Ma” is a very playful way of referring to another person and “Naega” mean I am. Together the words make a legitimate sentence which means, “Hey I am”, or in the full context of the sentence “Yo, I’m going to MAMA”. The words do not mean any offense with a proper translation. However, after S.Coups says, “Ma Naega”, the members repeat the word amongst themselves and Hoshi comes in with a very distinct hip-hop gesture. This signifies that although the term makes sense in Korean, at least one of the members associated it with the sound of the “N-word” and with Hoshi’s gesture, are making light of the racial slur. - Koreaboo
It's annoying how people forget hey they're speaking a completely different language than english, hey maybe the same sounds can mean different things in different languages. Please think about the context before automatically assuming and spreading lies
I'm actually currently trying to learn some from this site and I can't quite understand YET. But after a week, I can read it pretty okay. BUT GOOD LUCK. I'll just say it's easier than Japanese since there are SO MANY LETTERS AND DIFFERENT WAYS TO WRITE THINGS.
Bruh... Before you guys go ant further about SeungCheol saying the n word, let me just say. If he was really saying the n word, they would have edited it out. Plus Vernon and Joshua were there and they speak fluent English. Its not like they will stay quiet when their leader said something bad. Its because Coups is from Daegu he uses his accent. Lastly, MNet is not stupid, if it was a bad thing, they would've cut it out right away. Same goes for SeungKwan... Stop with all the accusing and hate for them. The members can't really speak good or fluent English except for Joshua and Vernon. I can bet 100% they don't even know what 'ma n****r' means...
+Starlight Baby he's definetely not saying the n-word nor provoking it. The members have imitated his daegu "tough" guy dialect before even at fansigns and self cams, since when was a handshake or dap copying/imitating black people? they do that in Daegu ALL THE TIME. People are OVER ANALYZING everything and already ended.
When i heard vernon said mario, the first guy that came to my mind was jin!! What happened to me??? Everytime i heard or see mario, i always remember jin, aigoooo!
Min Lyn The guy who said mario is WonU, not VernonㅠㅠVernon said 마싯다(맛있다 which means delicious) and 마파두부(I don't know what this word in english...sorryㅇㅅㅇ)
5:29 Cutie~ I love him so much~ Mingyu's & Hoshi's flying kick xD 6:41 I think everyone knows the cute little baby girl~ Seungkwan did so well xD 8:52 WonHui~
I know that its been almost a year but just reading these comments made me so annoyed. Before ppl just bashing S.COUPS about using n word they need to realize that they are using KOREAN. Only that it sounded like n word not 'naega' is because you don't know Korean and just opened your ears in English. Before spitting your words out, you guys should at least search or learn about Korean dialect and their language culture.
Hey foreigners......Please learn korean before you watch this video.../ S.Coups and Seungkwan didn't say it..... / Coups said " Ma naega" in Daegu Dialect..... no n word../ And, Seungkwan said " my girl" clearly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone who mistakes "naega" for "nigga" needs to step away from anything Korean and hold onto their anger and oppression until they learn Korean. Not knowing "naega" is a rookie mistake. Shame.
It's because people are watching it in an already negative perspective. I understand Korean, and when I watched it the first time before the drama started, it just seemed like he said, "Yo, I am" in Daegu dialect and the other boys were just copying his accent and high fived him cos he was creative to use his dialect. And uhh, they were obviously NOT speaking in English??? So I don't understand why non-korean-speakers are assuming they're saying an English word when it's OBVIOUSLY Korean. -.-
