Wow, thank you for your gracious help in extended the life of our PICKit2s! I am not a great computer person. I do understand from the commented instructions that I need to cut/paste the installation folder path into the command line. I am capable of doing that. However, I do not have the knowledge base to be able to follow the instructions to locate that path. Even though you list the instructions, I do not know how to use them: - $(Device) is expanded by MPLAB-X IDE - $(ImagePath) is expanded by MPLAB-X IDE If I am not explaining myself well, what I need to know is where to locate the address of my installation folder. Thank you for these additional details. EDIT: Might this be the path? = - Programs - Microchip - PICKit2 - Properties "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microchip\PICkit 2 v2\" Ohhh... Do we have to buy your software, in order for this to work? The command line path includes "PICKitPlus."
I have a bunch of PIC12F508 and I tried your method and is not working for this family of PIC's. I only have pickit2 and I very much like to use it with Mplab X. I managed to install this MCC plugin, but it only works with Your 18f24K42 PIC . If I select my 12F508, I get an error every time and will not let me inside MCC options window like it does for you: "WARNING: The project's device is not supported by the currently loaded libraries. All library versions are available for download on the MCC website. www.microchip.com/mcc" I managed to install the newest library for [pic10-pic12-pic16-pic18-version1.81.7] and still, the same error. It does not let me enter and select anything you selected in your case. -Any advice? -Thank you.
The 12F508 is not supported by MCC. This is as Microchip constraint. Please check the latest IDE as Microchip are always improving MCC support. You can develop solutions using ASM and other dev languages but the MCC will not operate on the 12F508. And, you can still program via the method shown.
Hi, many thanks for the hint, under linux with pk3cmd I insert the code : pk2cmd -P $(Device) -M -F "$(ImagePath)" and it works very nicely !! By the way using PIC16F690 ...
