1. For those wanting 'Americano' style coffee vs the stronger European espresso/latte, you can always add hot water to weaken it. 2. The portafilter only needs to be firmly tightened. You don't need to crank it all the way in. 3. He put too much coffee in the portafilter. There should be a bit of a gap at the top after tamping. Putting too much coffee in will make it hard to tighten.

Thank god. You’re the only video that explains the manual froth on the damn thing. I’ve done it before, but haven’t used the machine in like a year. I went to go make a cup of tea and wanted some froth in it. I forgot how I did it. So I searched, and nothing. Finally stumbled on your video, and you confirmed my suspicions. Hold down the damn froth button.🙄 Now I can get back to making my tea on the side and just adding some froth. Thank you.

The first couple mornings I was skeptical whether or not I'd be able to get a large coffee the way I like it from this machine. It's a learning curve. But I'm starting to get it dialed in to make my cup o' morning joe, large and bold. I think it is going to be a keeper. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Interestingly, in Australia this machine is a Sunbeam, is almost identical but for the porta filter arrangement and finish slightly different. Not sure why.

Interesting the company that owns Mr Coffee, bought out Sunbeam in 2004, so may explains why ours is almost identical!

Didn’t know I needed a new coffee machine… but after watching this video, considering re-outfitting. Thanks for this informative video. Looking forward to the next review video.

Thanks. Beware. It’s dangerous. Coffee is so good I have a hard time walking past it without making a cup. 😬 Thanks for watching and commenting.

I just got one for Xmas this year, I wish I would have watched your video 1st. Turns out I didn’t properly prime it before making my 1st cappaccino.

The jury is still out on whether or not it will fulfill my coffee needs (plain full size coffee). Just getting started with experimenting. More to come. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@usmcgunz1066 Thank you for the video. I'm picking up the same machine this weekend. If you're wanting just good cup of coffee I would definitely would recommend getting another Keurig and have them side by side.

The Keurig is definitely more convenient. But I am loving this espresso machine. I have grown to love the double cappuccino and have a hard time walking past the machine without stopping to make a cup. It has become my latest vice. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your machine when you get it. Thanks for watching and commenting!

FooFoo Coffee! Who knew? No shame here, I love my Cafe Barista. Besides, I believe the Corps has given permission to enjoy a good cup of joe. ....But we all know REAL coffee comes from a field kitchen green cambro, made with potable water(?) from the water bull, poured into an almost clean canteen cup.

Rah. I’ve had my fair share of field coffee. Hell, I’d even foo-foo it up a little in the field by adding half a packet of hot chocolate from my MRE to it. 😬 Thanks for watching!

I tried the prime along with you but I still cannot get the porta filter to line up with the “locked” icon. No matter how I push, it doesn’t go there. The thing heated up and I did not see all three buttons stay lite solidly after flickering.

Did your handle ever get easier to turn? Mine gets stuck pretty good wondering if I should exchange?

Yes. Mine loosened up after a while. Locks into place easily now. Thanks for watching.

My machine is brand new but when I hit the cappuccino button it doesn’t froth. I left the milk container in the fridge over night. Do you have any recommendations?
@usmcgunz1066
@usmcgunz1066 7 месяцев назад
My only guess - and you’ve probably already tried this - is to make sure you have your milk reservoir filled to max fill line and the knob on the reservoir is set your desired froth level (not on “clean” setting). Also make sure reservoir is pushed completely into position. FWIW - I have found that a full milk reservoir gives me better/more froth than one with less milk. Hope this helps. And thanks for watching!

What size is the portafilter?
@usmcgunz1066
@usmcgunz1066 Год назад
Ya know, that’s a good question. Shortly after buying this espresso machine, I started shopping for extra portafilters. I wanted extras on hand so I could pre-load or “speed load” them. I never could find the size anywhere in the manual or online. I did find online sellers that sold exact replacements though. So I bought one or two from them (replacementparts.com , I think). Anyway, they were an exact fit - but still haven’t seen the size. As luck would have it, I found this exact machine with all the original parts at my local goodwill store a week or so later. So for $8, you better believe I snatched it up in a heartbeat. Pump didn’t work on that unit. But for $8, it was money well spent just to get extra portafilters, milk frothing reservoir, water reservoir, etc. I still don’t know what size the portafilters are, so I can’t answer your question directly. I guess I may have to take one to work with me and put the dial caliper on it. Thanks for the view and the question!

I just measured the portafilter (inside dimensions). It measured 54mm.
