I have had this tea maker for years! Used to love it…i used 2 family size bags and i just added water instead of ice! Lately tho it’s become flavorless! I wondered if they changed the tea but now i have to try using more bags! They must have changed how much tea or the strength of the tea. P.s. i always wash all my pitchers and the plastic tea holder in the dishwasher! Top shelf and never a prob!

Your the second person I have seen talking about the paper filter. That filter is only needed if your brewing loose tea leaves. If your using normal tea bags you do not need it.

i used to go over to my auntie's house just to get a glass of her sweet tea, and last year in April she passed away. the previous Christmas, she bought me one of these and said i could make my own tea. i said "i want YOUR tea, though!" and I just hid it in a cabinet somewhere. i just moved a few days ago and I rediscovered I owned this, so I decided to finally use it. i wish that I could have one more glass of her tea, but making my own pitcher makes me feel closer to her. thank you for the video

I use a spoon and squeeze the tea bags after it’s done, for some extra flavor, also once it’s done, I fill it with more regular water to get more tea out of it. It does bring the flavor down, but just use more tea bags.

I am in the same boat. Some things to keep in mind that I learned. Sweet Tea (which I love) usually has more sugar in it than Soda, The fake Sugar that is in a lot of sweet tea bags, kinda made me feel bloated. If you can drink tea without a lot of sugar then I think it is a much better choice. I hate to say it but I went back to Soda Pepsi after a couple months drinking tea. I hope it goes A lot better for you.

@@JustADad You’re welcome! Another tip for the Keurig machine is after the cup brews I have calculated how much water I need to fill my rather large cup. I then add additional new water to the reservoir and cycle it again using the original pod to get a full cup.

The amount of water you put into the heater, my decades old one was 1 quart. Just measure how much you put into the pitcher to the fill line. You end up with more than a quart when the ice melts, that's why you make it strong for this dilution.

I have been using this for years. I have never put a filter in with my tea bags. Was there a reason for that? You also said something about not using the really big tea bags. I have done that with no problem. This thing is so easy to use. If anyone wants to know, you can put as many tea bags you want and put ice if you want to.

I don't have much experience with this and it was very intimidating when I first got it out. I tried to put the 1 gallon tea bags in and they did not fit that well. @@JustADad thank you for replying back. I didn't go back and hear if you did (too lazy lol) but I'm going to try this. I'm the only one who drinks tea so I can make it the way I want lol. 6 Decaf tea bags, filling it up to the water line, dump drew tea out, fill up again until I get my gallon, no ice, just put it in the fridge. My nephew does it like this...fill it up to water line, he uses 10 bags of the sweet tea(they like it too sweet lol) drews the tea...pours it in the tea pitcher...then fills the tea pitcher with cold water.

I am still using a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker that I bought over 30 years ago. It actually steeps the tea where this one just runs the water through the basket like a coffee maker. I really don't see the difference between this and a coffee maker. So when my Mr. Coffee Tea Maker ever wears out, I'm sunk. Tea needs to be steeped in the hot water to get maximum flavor.

make sure you use very cold, or it'll stop and shut off in the middle of cycle

I couldn't figure out why you keep shutting off and then I realized my daughter has well water so her water is cold and I live in town and my water is always warm so I took some water and that container and put in the refrigerator overnight and then poured it in and it ran straight through

I know I'm very late to this video but if anyone's around I have a question about the tea. I'm diabetic and before being diabetic I used to LOVE sweet tea but since being diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic I, of course, have to stay away from sugar. I know that these artificial sweeteners pretty much always leave a bad bitter aftertaste but how bad is this one (Lipton Southern Sweet Tea)? I know none of these brands with fake sugar will ever taste like the real thing but how is this brand compared to the others? Is there anyone one particular brand of artificial sweet tea that tastes the best in anyone's opinion? Thanks
