This track is fire, I discovered this artist from a vlad interview. I love how authentic he is. No fake shit just strait bars and he means every word .
So I was born in Cali (family is from West L.A.) but raised NY... And as we know NY is birthplace of hip hop. But in some weird way the Cali culture stayed in my heart and my cousins would come out here and bring their tapes from Cali rappers and I would listen to them. West coast rap was the shit especially back then. I loved Kid Frost and Cypress Hill, I was also bumpin Tha Mexakinz. Anyway long story short, people out here would hate on West coast MCs because they felt not too many West coast rappers were lyricists and their rhymes were simple with no complexity in their wordplay. I agree with that but only to an extent because there are many West coast MCs who really stand out from the rest especially some Chicano rappers. This is my 1st time listening to Mr. Criminal and I have to say the man got bars and he got flow. I respect that because today all we have is bubblegum pop bullshit that kids today consider rap or real hip hop and they couldn't be more wrong. I hope more MCs like him keep coming out and keep the culture alive. I'ma listen to more of his stuff and if it keeps impressing me I might even cop his shit word up.
