to sacrifice a part of being in a Jason Mraz concert (not singing or laughing) for us who didn't attend, man that takes a lot of willpower, i thank you on behalf of all jason mraz fans
I still don't understand why people laughed about that "opera" part of the song. If you are a true fan of Mraz, you know that this is part of Mr Curiosity. Earlier this month I went to his concert with Raining Jane. And he did mr Curiosity and the people were laughing too. Such a shame, cause it's such a beautiful song.
Maybe, but after all those concerts you should know it bu now right? Last Friday I went to a 2nd concert of jason and Jane. He played this song. and again people laughed. Man I almost cried when he sang, because it was so beautiful. Just close your eyes and enjoy!
TheAmaterazzzu I know right!! You just wished you had a very big hand and give everybody who laughed a freaking bitch slap haha.. Did Toca came to your concert as well?
I think the reason they laugh about the opera part is, that is so awesome and insane and great, that you get so happy about it. That is why i laugh when I see something awesome.
Jason Mraz is an extraordinary human being and hands down the most talented artist around. So very versatile in his work and not to mention incredibly handsome..........Way to go Jason, you are amazing............
I wonder if there is a recording of this version without the audience's response. Frankly the reaction of the audience is very distracting from truly appreciating this MASTERPIECE
... the melody is such a richness ... beyond beauty ... above all ... he comes from classic ... no doubt . - his total soul is there . my heart fullfills as pomp . - and the marvelous toca rivera interventions and the sing_play , so sensible . in a timbre which fits so deeply with the one of jmraz . - i find u . i do .
Last night concert was one of the best performances I ever been to. I am glad that I was there and also your last tour in HK a few years ago. You and everyone in your band were breathtakingly played and nearly brought me to tears because of how beautiful it was and it brings everyone of us in the hall to stand, sing, clap and share the joy. I would be super super happy if I am chosen in your secret gig. Once again, thank you for the music and being inspirational.
I think this is the most beautiful version of Mr Curiousity especially piano part at the end. And I think this kinda mood will never repeat. Sydney people , you are so lucky.
I love love love this song even though I listened to it a million times it always sounds brand new! This is my first time to see Jason play the piano live thanks for posting!
If you listen closely ( and I have, trust me, to EVERY version!) The operatic part is "Mister, come and see, waiting ever patient for thee, Keep it real, Take it fucking Easy, Calm Down", and I can't make out that last line!!! That's what people are laughing at...and the fact that it's Jason singing Opera! (I heard his mom was an Opera teacher..?)
+Leah Naumann Thanks for posting the operatic lyrics...I had deciphered a lot of them (not as well) but still working on that last part too....I think the last two lines might be something like: "No no fearing, Tomorrow doesn't fear". (I could hear that a bit more clearly on the youtube video Live in Dallas performance of Mr. Curiosity (Opera part at at 2:16)...I believe part of why he's such a good singer is having that classical opera training, plus a naturally beautiful tone.
+Jinjee Garrick I thought he might be saying "Waiting every patient, For more me" intead of "For thee" (though thee makes more sense) and where you have "Calm down" I have "Come and go" (But I love "Calm down"!) So we have: Mister, Come and see Waiting every patient For thee Keep it real Take it fucking easy Calm down No, no fearing Tomorrow doesn't fear Would like to hear other thoughts on what those last two lines might actually be!
ure super welcome ! my elbows were rested on my bag which is on my lap :) the tough part is not laughing to his jokes or singalong just in case videos get jerky or spoilt by my harmony. :P
I'm guessing the audience had not heard this song before which may explain their giggling in the opera part. That being said, this man is amazingly talented. It's crazy how he can sound 10 thousand times better live than in studio/album. Never ceases to impress. I can't wait to see him again in August for the LOVE tour!!!
I think the opereratic part triggers laughter as it’s such a shock to some people. You know when someone falls over or somebody says something totally surprising we sometimes laugh. I thinks a bit like that. Also hearing ‘take it fucking easy’ in an operatic countertenor voice is meant to be a little funny anyway. Just glad people do end up cheering:))
... the fragility jou show and feel is extremely masculine . it touches my soul very deeply . more than one can imagine . men are men only in fragility . and jou are very special in it . when jou show it .
Whoa, I never knew he could play the piano. So nice. The first few notes of the little piece that he did after the song ended sounded a little bit like a Danny Elfman composition from "Corpse Bride.." I got so excited because I love Tim Burton's stuff and I love Jason Mraz too. That would be a great combination! ♥☺ Anyway, I was also wondering, would you guys know what Jason Mraz sings during the opera? What's he saying? I could never figure it out..
A few hours after I had written my comment last year I realized what he was saying. haha The song in the album does not have that little dirty comment in the opera singing. The laughing makes more sense. :)
