The best animated science teacher in the world, Mr. D.N.A, gives us a genetics lesson on the art of cloning dinosaurs.
Jurassic Park (1993): John Hammond, an entrepreneur, opens a wildlife park containing cloned dinosaurs. However, a breakdown of the island's security system causes the creatures to escape and bring about chaos.

the method of how Ingen did it is possible in theory, but finding well preserved dinosaur DNA is very hard to impossible so far, though some have been found. the problem then comes how to fill in the DNA gaps,

@@shawntipton5078 Well they did acknowledge the DNA filling through using frog DNA - although that totally won't work in real life, of course.

I love how they made this scene to help people of all ages who don't have a degree in genetics help understand how they made dinosaurs in a very fun and cute way.

“How do you interrupt the cellular mitosis” I wish I was smart enough to understand what that means.
@juanmanuelpenaloza9264
@juanmanuelpenaloza9264 3 месяца назад
Mitosis is the splitting of cells to create new ones. Interrupting it means having control of how the new DNA strands split to prevent any complications, since we're dealing with spliced DNA.

Main thing I learnt from this scene is that John Hammond has the strength of 3 people... in just one arm. (Case and point) 3:56

hey guys what would happen if us humans extinguished gorillas from king Kong & after that we as us humans make bio synthetic hybrid DNA splicing of both chickens turkeys & komodo dragons then we bio synthetically engineered & it depends on how you bio synthetically engineer them in stuff that's all of course

You see, a few years back on a routine dig for dinosaur fossils, a landslide broke out and nearly broke my leg in two! They had to operate quickly, so they used the dinosaur bone i found to fix my leg. Ever since, I’ve had what they call DINO DNA. The doctor says it makes me stronger than your average joe.

I would believe this statement if it had to deal with actual dinosaurs but because in the movie they explained how they had to fill in the dna with other animals because of “missing” code. Therefore the behavior of the “genetically modified” dinosaurs is different compared to real ones from millions of years ago. That’s just my take on it. I would love to hear what you think about my thoughts!!!

Yeah, you can argue the reason these big girls aren't feathered or colorful is because the DNA from other species negates those genes.

He meant to ask if they were "animatronics" but forgot/confused the words. It's more for comedic effect than some sort of actual important piece of dialogue.

IRL, there's very little chance of finding any living Dinosaur DNA in a mosquito preserved in amber. And even if there is, the holes would be too big to fill to create any sort of complete code. And even if they weren't, the DNA of a frog wouldn't do the job.
