I have been testing 8 different blades with my 2 new razors (ED316 and Merkur15C). The Nacet and the Indian Wilkinson Sword have won with both razors. Nacet slightly ahead but the Wilkinson Swords are so cheap (AUD10 per 100). The ED316 is a fantastically smooth yet deceptively aggressive razor and now my go to. Good job we are all different.

Hi Bob👋 I do not own, nor do I have experience of using the Merkur 15c. The ED316 however, is probably my favourite DE razor of 2020. The Nacet blades are excellent as are the Indian Wilkinson Sword blades. I have more experience with the Nacets but that is purely because they are one of my go to razor blades. As you say, we are all different. Each of us have different skin types, sensitivity and beard thickness/growth. It is the reason why there are so many different opinions out there n the community 👍

Greetings, does the 3one6 head work well with the Razorock handle?

To be honest, I haven't tried it, but I don't see any reason why it would not be fine👍

Good to know. My Game changer is a 68. I like it fine. I see no reason to step up. My Lupo 72 doesn't shave as well as my Gamechanger 68. Ny Lupo 95 is as smooth and beats them all. Im a daily shaver though. I love shaving too much to skip a day.

Nacet is my favourite blade along with the Rubie. It's true what you say about the end results from different razors. The Feather ASD2 will match my Outlaw. But a little bit more work will be required

I haven't tried the Rubie blades. Where do you source them from?

Hi Jim, I own the AS-D2 and the Outlaw. Both great razors!.....Depends on what mood I'm in as to which I use. I have 12 other razors, the 3one6 included. Probably my 3 favourite razors....although the Braveheart is nice too 🤔🤔🤔

Sir, you are absolutely right that there passes and pick up with milder razors also gives a BBS shave and that is more comfortable, EJ 316 is not my go to razor but with Merkur 37c and a Gillette 7o'clock super platinum black blade I am done in two passes only 👍👍👍
@MrGShave
@MrGShave 3 года назад
Hi Rajan, I still believe it to be true. It may take a few more strokes of the razor but you will end up with the same result.

lol am first starting to learn about wet shaving. I want some of that satisfaction you have at the end. been shaving with cartridges and foam and it's a boring chore. what DE razor would you recommend for a beginner in UK? Edwin Jagger DE89? thx.
@MrGShave
@MrGShave 3 года назад
Hi Tom👋 Carts & canned foam? Oh man, you are in for a treat. Your situation reminds me of when I first transitioned from carts to traditional DE shaving. I envy you just starting out and discovering the world of DE, soaps, creams that are available to you. It was certainly an awakening for me. In answer to your question, it depends on your beard type. If you have a heavy, thick beard growth I would look at the Edwin Jagger DE89 to start with. However if your beard growth is medium/fine, the Merkur 34c (short handle) or 38c (long handle) is the better choice. Alternatively if you are unsure, the way to go is an adjustable razor like the Merkur Progress. With an adjustable you can dial in your shave to suit your beard type. If I am honest the adjustable option, whilst a touch more expensive, is probably the best way to go. I would highly recommend you check out my shaving tutorial play list. You will find all the info you need there. Enjoy the journey, approach it with patience and you will be rewarded with the kind of shave you are looking for👍

I received this razor yesterday and paired it with a Super shave X blade. I got a really superb shave. I had never used the shave X blades before. I found the pairing great! Blade very much like a Nacet. I also subscribed. Stay safe mate, Dave.

Hi Dave. I really appreciate the support🙂👍 Which of the razors did you receive? I love both to be honest. I will try and get my hands on some of those blades though.

@@MrGShave Oh sorry!! (Duh!! 🤣🤣), the 3one6 all stainless. I really liked it and 16 hours after shaving I was still incredibly smooth!! It reminds me of my Feather AS-D2 but more aggressive. I have bad skin from acne as a teenager (58 now) so I have to be careful shaving. I also love my Outlaw and Braveheart razors. I have only used my Parker Variant once and I was quite impressed with the Q-shave Futur copy. Again only used once. I have been DE shaving for about 35 years. Soap up the face with brush, hack away with razor, clear up blood and treat cuts....job done!! Only recently have I been shaving properly, taking care and paying attention to growth direction and using quality razors and products. I'm hooked now!! Take care mate and stay safe Sir, Dave.

Nice video Mr G! Great comparison of 2 very popular high end razors. Don't own either, but often hear good things about both of them. Sounds that they live up the the praise!

Hi Phil, thanks for all your comments 😊 I am really quite flattered to have my first binge watcher😀👍 Both of these razors rank in my top razors and they certainly do live up to their praise! They both deserve a spot in anyone's den, however if I had to choose one, I would probably go for the 3one6 as the Edwin Jagger finish is a thing of beauty 👌
