needs to be noted that the very first time you connect to a 20 lb. propane tank you will need to hold the button down on " pilot " for anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes. The longer the hose the longer it takes to purge the air out and get propane from tank to ignition/ pilot light

@zorbbful
@zorbbful 2 года назад
Yes you do need a filter and if you don't put it in it can lead to a very deadly situation of a partially clogged orifice putting out lots of carbon monoxide and the unit will not shut off because the carbon monoxide will build up above the heater since the shut-off oxygen sensor is located on the floor in the heater where oxygen can still be present all the while above it is carbon monoxide.

Interesting observation.. I am sure it has nothing to do with my proximity to the North Pole. Joking aside; It has been about a year and my heater is working flawlessly. We were able to get 2 full days out of a 20lb tank running at full blast. I am seriously considering ordering a fan attachment so I can better direct where I want the heat focussed.

I'm not sure if I missed it but I didn't see where you put the fuel filter which is imperative for safety as dirt from the fuel will clog up the orifice and it will start to put out carbon monoxide. It should also be noted that the oxygen sensor is not very relevant because you can still be getting carbon monoxide poisoning from that heater while you have oxygen present. This is especially the case with this heater since carbon monoxide is lighter than oxygen and it will build up where you are breathing all the while the heater on the ground is getting plenty of oxygen and will continue to put out a deadly situation of carbon monoxide poisoning. I nearly died from using this heater.

You can attach the 20# tank to just one side and leave the other side open. You could with another hose attach two 20# tanks to the heater, one on each side if you wanted. That would give you days of heat without changing the bottle..

@Donslife
@Donslife 3 года назад
@@imhumanfornowlivingonmycou885 The fuel consumption depends on a couple factors. Usually a 20lb tank isn’t filled to full capacity. If you had 15lbs instead in the tank and used the heater on high continuously, you would probably get about 16-20 hours. On low you would get 70-90 hours. These are just estimates since your tank might be at 17lbs or 14lb when they fill it. We used ours on a job with about 15lbs and ran it on high for two 8hr days and it ran out right at the end of the 2nd day. So 16 hrs approximately.

It’s a propane heater refilled at the same place to get a grill fuel tank refilled or you can use a 1lb tank made for lanterns or camp stoves (Colman green tanks)

Can you use a larger propane tank like a 30lb rather then a 20lb tank with this heater?

Why do you need to keep the 20 pound tank outside the garage?
@Donslife
@Donslife 3 года назад
Hi Roberto, the owner’s manual suggests it: “DANGER: NEVER bring a refillable propane cylinder indoors. A fire or explosion can occur causing property damage, serious injury or death!” I suppose having a hose and extra fittings/connections increases the risk of a leak. Putting an auxiliary tank 20lb, 30lb, etc outside seems to be the safest way.

You have to be smarter than the heater for it to function properly.
