I have a two-car garage, and like many people, have a couple of small plastic gas cans stored inside. Would there be a safety issue with regard to possible vapors, or would you think that operating the heater 10' or so away from the fuel would be safe? Thank you.
It’s a bit odd, as the box this heater came in showed that it was Indoor Safe. I wonder why the box stated this, but if you purchase one in Canada, it states it is not safe for indoors. I am mulling over getting one for an emergency.
This is a great video! Thanks! I’m a little confused about my Big Buddy. It came with a paper saying that it requires one AAA battery for the electric igniter yet there’s nowhere (that I can find) to install the battery! I’m almost wondering if it doesn’t actually use a battery and the paper was included by mistake? An image on the paper shows a location to install the battery on the bottom of the heater but my heater bottom doesn’t look the same as the picture. Of course, the unit takes D batteries but I thought that was only for using the fan and were optional. Are the D batteries actually necessary and used for ignition as well as the fan? Anyway, thanks!
The unit uses no batteries, the D cell bay in back was for the battery powered fan but it is now a household charger or 12 volt car type charger. Kind of defeats the plan to use the fan during power outages
