Turning half of constructicons (or even decepticons in general) into silver semi-animalistic scrap isn't realistic, nor turning autobots into literally humans with random car parts that dont look like something transforming (Even faces alone like Que's or Hound's are too human-like). The only semi-realistic thing is that some characters share same design/body type, it could work with hatchlings-protoforms, but some characters in later movies literally have bodies of Constructicons or even KSI drones. So nah bayverse designs are quite awful, their only pros that some of them actually make them look like aliens (not excluding most 3-5 autobots).

Some of the Bayformers designs are ugly but the G1 designs are not all gold. G1 Bumblebee is built like 50 year old alcoholic, the Animated and Prime incarnation of him look much better.
i actually am still buffled how in g1 megatron turns into a fucking gun and NO ONE asks questions. like who thought this was a good idea? 😭 and it also just makes starscream like a thousand times dumber, bc he could've killed megs so many times without facing any consequences for it (literally in some of the first episodes of the first season), but he didn't for no damn reason 🏴☠️

Devastator actually looks cooler in the bayverse. I like the idea that Devastator looks like a Kaiju from pacific rim. The original design looks tacky because every constructicon is the same color

@@dylanburston7453 "interesting" there are quite some cool bay designs but most of them are ugly, weird, too alien like, or they should have been more similar to the characters that are supposed to be, and a lot of them are just a unrecognizable mountain of scrap

The comics, other series, literally every other bit of transformer media has changed many things about characters. but everyone cries because iron hides black, or optimums isnt a flat faced truck, when hes been a long nose truck in armarda and comics before.Everyone else can do it but not bay apparently. Hell, Prime being a Monke got less hate Even G1 wasnt G1 accurate. Why should a franchise be bogged down by the names it slapped on some imported toys from different toy lines 40 years ago? The First 3 bay films have the best Live action transformers well ever get because the people working on them gave a shit and broke CGI boundaries. They are all varied, they all look badass, they all look real and they take into account every little detail has to move in a realistic way and does change size. They are all insanely detailed, and that was missing in BB decepticons. You cant take a G1 design and just put it in live action. They did that with Prime and that seeker in BB. They both looked/ would have looked great in the war for CyberTron cutscene at the beginning of the film, but Prime looked shite in the post credit scene. honestly, BB design in BB is pretty much the perfect middle ground between G1 and Bay verse desighns. The only gripe i have is he needed a couple of panel gaps to make him look more nimble and movable, and his Eyes should have been at last 25% smaller. The Camaro BB in post credit looked like ass tho, i hope BB isnt that dumpy in ROTB
@@falius9878 the live action films are more realistic and gritty in a sense, so having fully accurate G1 designs in this universe would not only look goofy, but it would just be silly. Bumblebee got it right, though.
@@dylanburston7453 it is my opinion but I'd say other tf movies and series have absolutely better designs than the Bay ones Yeah I get that, and I think the same, not everything has to be g1, that would get repetitive but if I have to choose between g1 inspired designs or trash designs I'd choose the first option (about ironhide and prime, I'd say red or even orange suit better ironhide than black and a long nose truck for Optimus isn't bad for me, after all I've grown up with that kind of Optimus designs and can't see it as something wrong) Yeah I get that and I'm all for originality but if you're gona make a well-established character look so different to how it was supposed to look like, like for example que (that's just not wheeljack) or hound (he's bulkhead! He just looks and acts like an old bulkhead! Why would he be hound?) that's just for me a overall weird/bad choice depending on how it's handled, and if it really bugs you that I'm only using bayverse examples I can also talk about armada wheeljack... That's sideswipe! He looks like sideswipe but he's called wheeljack for... Some reason? And energon downshift... He actually looks like wheeljack but doesn't have its name The best live action transformers? Very debatable m8, there are some undeniably amazing transformers in there like Optimus (i guess the only bad thing about his design is that he's too cool, which is cool but Optimus looked like a cool and humble leader and the Bay one looks like a badass American hero that will stomp you if you have the single most little evil intention, which is just how he acts in those movies- so no complaints I guess?) and rotf soundwave (specially the toy with those blue touches, for me that design and concept of soundwave is one of the coolest, scariest and most unique soundwave has ever had along with animated and prime) but they all are certainly not that varied, badass or real, although yes they are all filled with detail I'll give them that, and that's one of their biggest flaws, they have too many details all over them making them too complex to understand how they look so I guess that's realistic? But also inefficient movie wise, like, my mom has seen the Bay movies with me countless times for the past 10 years, and even after having seen those transformers so many times, she barely can't distinguish any decepticon from starscream, 'cause there are a lot of decepticons or transformers in general that are just plain grey and with too many details, making them for a casual viewer indistinguishable monsters and I don't like that! And when ratchet was dying in tf 4 and my little cousin saw that part he said "damn I dunno where his face even is now!" one thing is making a complex design and another very different thing is making a overwhelming, intricate and complicated design, either that or it's just too weird to observe their biology... Bots with a poggo stick instead of legs? Or a single wheel instead? Why giving them hair!? What did primus think when making these creatures? Not only that but their designs also hinder the fight scenes "oh wow I love to see that giant metallic black thingy kill that giant metallic grey thingy" "boy isn't it awesome when Optimus fights three starscream clones in the forest?" "man I loved when the Grey looking bad robot shot at the autobots, I dunno it's names, one was all green, and another one all blue? And one was Optimus and then there was another green one? So there are two? Are they the same? Bah who cares" if you can't comprehend what's happening in the fight that's a huge problem and another reason why the other tf series and movies are superior, they have coherent and not so complicated designs that are not only recognizable but they also work well in a fight scene or any scene where you have to look at who is who, and you also have to take on account the battle choreography, which in a lot of the tf series and in the BB movie is just great, specially in the BB movie, where you can clearly see how the transformers exchange punches, trow kicks, uppercuts, shoot at the enemy when most useful and use their environment (when they thrown at each other or use objects or things in said environment like when bumblebee shot a dam to kill shatter and when he cut off a tree to stop the military from persuing him) and their own capabilities as transformers as an advantage (like when blitzwing flies over bumblebee using his hability to fly as a seeker or when dropkick gets away from bumblebee in car mode and then transforms into a helicopter to shoot at him from the air using his hability as a triple changer) basically, Transformers is about "robot looking aliens" fighting each other, not "alien looking robots" humping each other, thus the BB movie is for me the best tf live action movie ever and rotb will probably take its place when to comes out Excuse me what? You actually can and it works! Haven't the BB movie proven that? Those designs look perfect! they are simple enough to be recognizable and good designs for a fight scene and also complex enough to be interesting and cool, the g1 bots we all know but with some bayverse and cybertron games touches to make them better, just how the Bay designs should have been, and the seekers and prime are still great, I'm very happy about prime's new design and I'm glad he'll look almost identical to his BB version in rotb, the superior prime stays! Yeah and I'd say that bee is the best live action one, personality and design-wise, and maybe you're right about the panels but I prefer his eyes been that big, it actually fits him more knowing he's the kid appeal and cute character and the Bay one didn't looked that kid appealing nor cute with those small creepy eyes
