The interplay between the two of you gives me a genuine belly laugh every time. From Dustin presenting the refined perspective to Kaelynne's (I'm going to keep changing the spelling until I see the official one) real world take, you make learning to appreciate whiskey fun.
Fricken LMAO. great pick up. would love a bottle of that. But atleast here in Oz we can but Blantons SFTB at one of our chain stores. These reviews feel like the most random whiskey sessions ever filmed. love it
Could be that you just opened it for the nail polish remover on the nose initially. Do not think I can explain tubular dog. 😊 JD doing good things. I was lucky to get JD 12 batches 1 and 2, as well as JD 10 batches 1, 2 and 3. JD 12 Year batch 1 was one of my favorites in 2023. 🥃 Patent that “Drive By Method”.
Please do a real world notes vs whiskey notes video. Get some dark chocolate, cherries, vanilla extract, nail polish remover, hot dog 🌭 😅, Graham cracker, etc. Then you both smell and taste each. No one has done it but it would be a hit. Might help Kalylin's palette, too.
Really enjoying your videos. Do you mind giving up the name of you local shop? I'm in the southern suburbs and always looking for another place to hunt. BTW, it's patronize.
My friend managed to find one of these. This was a maple and nutmeg/allspice/baking spice bomb for me. I didn't get the infamous banana note, thankfully. I see Kaylin was trying to repeat the broken cork incident 🤔You even brought back the censoring for putting the cork back. Nail polish remover = acetone. Fun migraine inducing stuff, used to work with acetone and other solvents when I was a painter. Tubular meat? 🤦♂ Are you sure the banana nut muffins aren't hidden in the hot dogs? Hehehehe. Try your "drive by" method with your mouth partly open for that full olfactory effect. It might help you pick out the smells and flavors that are eluding you. I would never pay secondary for it. I think JD 12 MSRP is supposed to be $90-100ish and secondary is currently $180-200 for Batch 2. If you're looking for bottles for review and you can't find them let me know, I can keep an eye out or I might already have them. You did say you're in Minnesota in a previous video correct?
If you find the smell of the alcohol overwhelming, try taking a few drops in the palm of your hand and then rub your hands together for couple of seconds and then smell your hands. The friction will evaporate the alcohol and you should be able to pick up on other layers.
No, just the basic Old No 7 is trash. The Jack 10, 12, and Barrel Proof Rye are fantastic. I was always a hater, but they’re releasing some fantastic stuff. They hired Buffalo Trace’s Master Distiller away from them 10-12 years ago and it’s really paying off.
