Ashley Grant And you don't need to use bobby pins to secure it? That's what I meant...my hair will only hold the donut in place when its super snarled and needs to be washed....basically when I'm at my grossest but STILL don't want to wash and comb my hair... :P

Lacey Thiessen hahaha I see what you're saying. I have to use a few pins to keep things in place and to keep it from unrolling, but for the most part I don't usually have issues, but I totally get what you're saying

Ashley Grant all the same, it sounds like you're a donut bun master! My friend has super straight hair and the donut is always showing...and even though my hair is past my waist I still need to backcomb it a bit so it's fluffy enough to cover...Guess I'll keep trying!

they take a lot of practice for sure! I'm sure you'll get the hang of it :) I had to do them a lot for dance so I got a lot of practice quickly haha

I did it! It took me three tries before I got the right shape, but I am so excited, it looks amazing and I know this going to be a go to hairstyle for years.

Love ur background music! Been using a sock bun for YEARS! Never occurred to me to roll my hair up in as apart of bun! I've got curly long blasian hair so my bun sits like 2in on top my ends! Can't wait to try it!

@thecreativehart I always use a diffuser to dry it and blowdry the roots upside down so you get lift at the roots. the trick with curly hair is to have volume at the roots too! thanks

Thank you! I just did it today and it is perfect! I have been doing Japanese buns but they take a lot longer and they fall apart if I do a lot of exercise (as I have PE I don't have a choice)... But this is perfect! Imma test it out tomorrow in PE and then see if it survives. :D
