The Canon C series cameras have fantastic quality! The only thing I noticed with this C300 (not sure if it’s a bigger problem with ALL C300s though) is that if we back-lit something too much and the camera pointed directly at a light, we would get a red line across the frame. It wasn’t a flare it was just a sensor problem. But something to look out for!

Did you use 50mm f1/4 ?

It's been a while but I'm pretty sure we used Canon Cine Primes, I believe it was the 24, 50, and the 135. There's a good chance we used the 50mm for 98% of the film.

This was shot a mark1 c300?

Yes I believe it was the C300 MK1. It had a weird bug where if it was pointed directly at a light, there would be a red streak across the middle of the frame. Couldn't get rid of it, so we had to change some of the lighting setups. Kinda crazy.

I don't really remember, we were borrowing the camera from a friend, but I don't remember upscaling anything while editing so it must have been a newer model because the resolution was always UHD.

It is! In our canon, Janice (grandma) was possessed by the demon in “Whatever It Is” and then moved across the state to be closer to her daughter-in-law and granddaughter so it can possess them too.

I was pretty impressed by the C300. Unfortunately we had to throw away some shots because any time the camera was pointed toward a light from a specific angle, it would record a horizontal red line across the center of the frame. Didn't notice until editing. I rented the camera from a friend who also owned a few Canon cinema primes, I think it was a 24, 50, and a 135mm.

Thanks! If I remember correctly, we used the 35mm, 50mm, and 135mm Canon cinema prime lenses.

The OG C300 and some odd Canon cine lens focal lengths. They were just what we had access to but I think it was 24mm, 50mm, and 135mm. We did pretty much everything on the 50mm.

Thanks! We used Canon Cine Primes that we borrowed from a friend’s company. They had a weird set, like 24mm, 50mm, and 135mm so we mostly used the 50 and we used the 135 for one shot.

We relied pretty heavily on the practical lamps in the scene, but we also had a Quasar tube dialed in to the same temp as the lamps to add a little more light in the scenes. But that was it really.
