Mr Lil One and Ross May pay Tribute to the One and only Godfather of Chicano Rap, the Late Great Mr KnightOwl, in February of 2022, with and Acoustic version of the Legendary Rappers hit Single titled "Here Comes The KnightOwl, originally released in 1994/95 on the Album "The KnightOwl" on Familia Records. The song was produced by KnightOwl himself and executive produced by Mexicali Slim, sampling the classics "You Cheated" by The Shields, and "Night Owl" by Tony Allen.
KnightOwl is known as the Originator of Chicano rap, blending the Oldies with modern day Chicano culture and lifestyle throughout the 90s and beyond, making waves by dropping albums all the way until his passing in 2022. Mr KnightOwl was born in Tijuana Mexico but represented 619 San Diego California and Chicanos worldwide, leaving behind a legacy of music and cultural influence that will stand the test of time through the ages, across all borders and color lines forever, as the 1 and only Godfather of Chicano Rap, setting the standard and carving a lane for all those who would come after him.
