Mr. Meaty was definitely a show that had Adult Swim vibes to it. Remember watching it during some offtime and thinking it had some serious potential for something like that

I think there was something wrong with me as a kid because I liked this show. But then again, I liked most things Nick put out.

I loved this show. It was so "out there" and the puppets were freaky. It succeeded in it's delivery of being weird and freaky in both visuals and story content.

If the creators behind Don't Hug Me I'm Scared aren't inspired by the way this show's made, I don't know what else is.

Honestly this show was hilarious, I actually got in contact with the creators, Jason Hopley and Jamie Shannon, neither of them have the lost pilot or bumpers and the puppets were apparently discarded by a producer. What a shame.

Yup. The tapeworm episode is the only thing I remember ever watching from this show as a kid and it mentally scarred me. I avoided the show like the plague from that moment forward and I still remember the episode vividly to this day. Definitely horrified me of actual tapeworms as a kid too once I discovered they were real lol

Honestly Mr. Meaty could have worked wonders for an Adult Swim show.

I genuinely loved this show and remember getting excited whenever it'd come on. The style was different from pretty much anything else at the time and still stands out. How macabre it was for a "kid's show" probably helped jumpstart my love of body horror and horror in general. The plots themselves weren't always the most creative or interesting but the visuals will always be amazing to me.

This show is a contributing factor as to why I have a fear of tapeworms and parasites in general.

Honestly, it does say something that while I had forgotten this show existed, the moment I saw an image of it, I immediately started to remember details about it. Nothing particularly concrete, but enough that it still apparently had a presence in my mind, and once I saw clips I was constantly thinking to myself "I remember that". If nothing else, that's more than a lot of shows can manage.

This was the closest thing to Don't Hug Me I'm Scared we had in the 2000's. Meat you at the next video!

I actually remember seeing a commercial for it as a kid and being traumatised. Years later in my teens I actually did watch a few episodes, and once you get past the uncanny puppet designs it really isn't that bad or even disturbing as I once thought.

I always absolutely loved Mr Meaty. I completely understand why it was nightmare fuel for some, but the grotesquely unique puppets had me hooked. I wish they had DVDs available, but Nick will never release them.

I absolutely loved this show as a kid. Everyone else thought it was weird and scary and I couldn’t get enough. Oddly enough even from a very young age I had problems with certain kinds of puppets, surprisingly none of these scared me.

And the tapeworm is back in my mind, thanks Jordan.

I always seem to be in that small group of people who never really hated this show. Granted, it got weird from time to time but it had a low-key Crank Yankers vibe. It was one of those silly comedies where nothing was supposed to make sense and rolling with it made it more entertaining.

However the moment you uttered this sentence I spit out my water and snapped my neck at the screen because I remember this episode PETRIFIED me as a kid. I love this series even back when I was a kid. I always enjoyed puppets, so this show never scared me.

Either it was this, invader zim, billy and mandy, ren and stimpy or freakin flapjack, I ate up messed up cartoons as a kid and I don’t know why🤣🤣

You know what's so interesting and something I've always believed? I truly think this show would've lasted longer and possibly have gotten more of a positive reaction if it was on channels like Adult Swim or Comedy Central. I never understood why they put it in something like Nickelodeon because even some of the storylines were too adult even for kids to properly understand and I feel like the jokes and humor COULD'VE worked had it been for more of an adult audience. There's kind of a sarcastic and macabre feel of the show that a lot of us didn't get as kids but when we got older and saw this show again as older teens and even adults, we understood the humor and plotlines better. I truly think the only reason why this showed failed as much as it did was because they aimed it as a "kids show." I truly believe that was its downfall.

This is one of those shows that live in the waaay back of my head and I only remember it when I see a picture of the characters. I’ve never watched a full episode of Mr Meaty, but I do remember watching little commercial clips around 2007-ish.

I remember really looking forward to this show before it came out. It was so unlike anything I had ever seen at the time. I remember the night it premiered there was an episode that featured something I am fairly sure was called the buffalo burrito. I remember that episode making me physically ill and I never watched the show again. I was hoping you’d eventually do an episode on this show. Thanks!

5:57 Imagine being vegetarian and protesting Mr. Meaty; they must have only seen the name without watching the show. I'm pretty sure If you left this show running for long enough it'd lead a few people to stop eating meat because of how gross the show makes everything look.

I feel like this show has a similar vibe to, of all things, Invader Zim. So why do people love Zim and hate this? Personally, I think it's the fact that the puppets are real. And the environments, though exaggerated, resemble real places. And seeing all those horrifying things happening in something that resembles our world just sets a lot of people (myself included) off.

I remember coming across Mr. Meaty whenever I'd flip through channels to see if any of the shows I watched were on and as soon as I saw the puppets I immediately switched to another channel since it always seemed like a boring and weird show to me. I never did like those puppets.

For some reason, as a child, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen for a moment when watching this show. Yet, my family never liked it. Over ten years on, I now have a love for body horror. I wonder why... 😂

I remember watching this show when it first premiered. I was 9 years old at the time, and I was a pretty big fan of anything related to puppets. I remember really liking the show, and I still don't know why I was so drawn to it. But looking back at it now, it's uhhh... definitely a bit of nightmare fuel that I probably shouldn't have remembered XD Awesome video though! Keep up the great work!

I actually loved this show as a kid. Sure, the puppet designs were weird, but all the plot lines were so bizarre that I couldn't helped but be enthralled. It's like an early, grotesque version of Regular Show, and I can't help but respect it for that.

This video was in my recommendations. I saw the thumbnail. And the flood of memories of the horrors this conjured up. I truly forgot this existed. I was 15, I'm 31 now. Yet, the terror, the disgust....it all came back. Thank you for that, also great video. Instant sub.

I remember my mom making sure to turn the TV off or change the channel as soon as she heard this come on. She sensed that the hand deep frying episode was probably comparatively tame to what the rest of the series had to offer, thanks mom.

Do you like Frankie Muniz? His early work was a little too childish for my tastes, but when Malcolm In The Middle came out in 2000, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole series has a star-studded cast, and a new sheen of situational comedy storytelling that really gives the episodes a big boost. He's been compared to Devon Werkheiser, but I think Muniz has a far more "folklore trickster" style of acting. In '02, Muniz starred in this, Big Fat Liar, his most accomplished film. He plays Jason Shepherd, whose undisputed masterpiece is "Big Fat Liar", an essay so good, Hollywood director Marty Wolf--played by Paul Giamatti--stole it to use as the basis for his next movie. But he shouldn't have, because not only does Giamatti spend the rest of the film's 88 minute runtime being trolled by Muniz and Amanda Bynes, but the duality between his and Muniz's characters and their respective arcs serve as the main Aesop of the film itself. HEY FRINGE!

This show is my literal fever dream whenever I was sick, specifically staying home from school.

I saw this show at my cousins house once, and I never found out the name of it. Always had it hidden in the back of mind whenever I thought of my cousins old house though. Thanks to you, I remember this horrifying abomination of a show and can now mention it to them L.O.L.

I remember seeing this show a few times, the only episode I distinctly remember is the one with the tapeworm, I was oddly not bothered by it, In fact when my family use to have direct TV, I would look through the nicktoons schedule JUST to fine an episode of Mr.Meaty again, something about the style the show had and the weird story which as a kid I just didn't understand, I really wanted to just find it again, I never did lol until internet told me "yep it's real". I don't watch the show, but whenever I see it I have a weird sense of nostalgia for a show I never really watched at all but hunted for it's existence anyway.

To be honest it was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid even though it did freak me out. It was so weird I couldn’t stop watching.

I'm not surprised that they were inspired by Ren & Stimpy; it really shows in their writing. I also love Ren & Stimpy so I'm also not surprised that I enjoyed Mr. Meaty. My best friend at the time was not able to watch it as his parents actually did not allow him to watch TV when it was on. Still find that funny to this day.

When the show was being advertised around the premiere, I decided it would be my favorite show and watched it regardless if the content made my skin crawl because somehow, every episode was different from the last and nothing like the rest of the cartoon line up. Honestly, Mr. Meaty is probably the precursor for why I watched and loved 6teen in a roundabout way. The thing that still haunts me is the owner coming out of the freezer and always looking like a corpse. Because my mind went beyond the puppets and I can just see a bloated skeleton in 1080p horrifying glory. Would binge with a friend. Cheers.

I was 5 when this show came out and I loved it. I never really got scared by it but once when the show came on I was with my cousin and said how creepy the show was but idk I still liked it a lot.
