I see those suckers playing and feeding in the streams sometimes in the spring when I'm turkey hunting. Usually in breeding pairs. They are quick, I've always been seen and never had a chance to get any footage!

I like seeing them. They are fierce competition but just another example of wild places. Hope you and yours are well. Starting to see some snakes. I was in the western part of Virginia a few weeks back and saw a snake along a creek. I know it was one I have not seen but I was too slow to get a good look. Had the brightness of a copperhead but again too quick.

@@ChrisWalklet Funny how quickly those venomous snakes can disappear. All they really want to do is stay away from you! We're doing well, Just got back from catching trout in Tennessee, and Michael and the gang were out in Arizona looking for snakes and found a Gila Monster !

A friend of mine had caught a fish and had left it on the rocks ended up having a tug of war with one of these characters only to go home defeated & hungry. They are not native here. Thousands of mink were released from a farm into our countryside by animal rights activists. Now they are quite plentiful as nothing predates on them so far. My family saw one while swimming in a river a few years back...it said hello ;)) Good wishes to you Chris.

i am not sure that introducing something like a monk into an environment where there are no apex predictors to keep them in check is such a good thing. these guys are good at catching anything and imagine would really throw the balances out of order. I enjoy seeing them because they are pretty elusive unless you find yourself along a back woods river. they were trapped here for their pelts and they do have some threats to them in the wild. I just see them as doing what I am doing and usually if you see them it is for good reasons. It is nice to hear from you Peter I think about you and your family often. I hope you all are well. All the best my friend.
