I purchased this record for my father, a little after it came out. He really loved 'The Visitor', a similar album done by Mick Fleetwood, and the credits on that record listed like a who is who of rock. Dad listened to The Rythmatist, but I did as well, all of the time. I loved this album, and as a huge Police fan, that made sense. I still have the LP version, my father is 85, and no longer has a sound system so I have his records. I can't play it anymore, it just hasn't lasted the almost forty years we (he) had it. Amazon has a few used copies of the CD, but I think it's time for a re-release, I hope so...I miss listening to this beautiful record.

Terrific ! Thanks for uploading this. Stewart is such fun, insightful, lovely sense of humour and so eloquent. The interviewer however - I felt was toe curling! Eg when Stewart was showing what he was up to in the Fairlight, and the interviewer just asked fatuous questions, clearly not wanting to follow what Stewart was saying, it would have been fascinating to just let him riff for 5 Minutes - and drink it in …

Something that I've always wanted to do as a musician and that was to go to Africa and seek out some of these tribes as Stewart and others have done to experience their music and learn about it. I've traveled to Southeast Asia but it's just a thing with musicians and Africa, a connection of sorts, can still hope that one day it will happen. And I must say was sweet to see he had the old Fairlight computer and the Oberix-im drum box both of which were quite capable for that day and age, in fact I thought that model drum box had some extraordinary drum sounds some better in my opinion than modern drum machines.

Mr. Copeland if this is you, I've things to say, just only one or two. I'm 56 and therefore lucky enough to have camped out for tickets for The Police back in high school. I've been loving The Rhythmatist since like '91? or so. I thereby hope to qualify for your reading further: I'm very angry about the imbalance that persists regarding the world's resources. (I'm from Birmingham, Alabama, so I worded that very carefully. 👍🏾) Mr. Copeland, I'm about a day away from moving to Ghana. Did you hear the good news? President Nana Akufo-Addo said he's not gonna export cocoa no more. At Bern. Right to Switzerland. Very recently. YES!!! Show ol Whitey! (I'm white btw.) My passport expired in 2001 or so, and I'm lazy and unlikely to go. Alrighty then! Guess this is windin' up as a long thank-you note. Mister? I'd say in my brain you laid some pretty good foundation to my global gratitude attitude. In fact tomorrow I'm gonna wear the T-shirt I love but am too scared to wear here in Alabama. It's George Jefferson (Sherman Hemsley) with a disdainful look. And it reads, "Back Off Whitey!" Hopefully Homo Sapiens'll be movin' on up soon. 'Cause right now, I'd grade us as Unsatisfactory. Drum on, Bro. You and yours help folks maybe more than you know. 💞

@@woodyforrest313 absolutely i do. I am a huge Sting fan as a solo artist as well as his work with the Police obviously. The guy is a genius. But the video was about Copeland. His rhythms and approach to drumming set up the entire police sound and revolutionized music with it. Sting also said that about Copeland. Sting said Copeland was the heart of the Police. Maybe pulse of the Police is more appropriate. But you get no argument from me. Sting is amazing!!!!

@@woodyforrest313 very interesting comment. I've never heard a critique about his snare. I thought his drums were mixed beautifully especially on the ghost in the machine album. However I completely agree Omar was outstanding on stings first solo release. Just soo good. My favorite is the dancing in the rain track. Just smoke and fire. I used to play drums to it over n over. So big Omar fan here. Of course sting eventually had Vinnie on albums and what can you say. Awesome!!!!

I was looking through my "to do" list or rather clearing my recommendations when I had this recommendation for a TikTok Video that looked very interesting. I was sure it was Clickbait but the description was really interesting & had major curiosity factor, I just had to click it on. Unfortunately I was correct it was "Clickbait". Not even sure what it was about, but it featured a Mum {40 to 55) & daughter (19 to 32), applying make-up & they would discuss who was the hotest individual member of any Boy Band. Whilst applying make-up they would discuss boys, then give a make-up tip, back to boys, then another make-up tip. I had been absolutely proven correct, this was Clickbait & I was emotionally distraught, & also very angry- bordering on physhotic. This short Tik-Tok Video had done me great harm, so before I do great harm to the World, there is only one tried & tested solution, click on Stewart Copeland Video. Yesss....I'm getting better already, thank you Stewart Copeland for your all round awesomeness!
