they both actually took each other's advice. Dom taking a break and finally getting a good sleep. Darlene finally overcoming her emotional breakdowns and try to become independent again.
I hate when people say Domlene is not canon because Sam Esmail just confirmed they are by giving us a realistic ending which is to heal and give time. To me that is how you nail a love story that began in fucked up situations.
Do people really say that?? Not sure how it can get more canon than this. Guess some people really need mutual "I love you"s sealed with a kiss to get the point across. Was the same with Tyrell's end - "we didn't see him die so maybe he isn't dead". You're also so right about the love born from trauma. They both need time to heal, separately. Not just that but Darlene's about to have her hands full with Elliott's recuperation. Maybe in a few months, Dom returns and reaches out to Darlene. This doesn't have to be the end.
That night while I was running away from the pain of break up, this episode of Mr. robot made me to brust into tears,, it's still a memory that this song will never let me to forget
Most fucking awesome show in the history of television. Although it doesn't hit the box of being a generalist like other sitcoms. But the camera work, the story, the music, the character development is so top class. Nothing has come close to the feeling I had after I finished the show. Sam Esmail, you fucking genius
A bittersweet reverse "Your Name" ending. They didn't end up together. They didn't get what their feeling for each other would've wanted, but they got what they needed for their own selves. Darlene overcoming her panic attack and standing on her own without needing someone, and Dom finally relaxing and getting her good night's sleep.
This is dom's last scene in the show apart from a brief appearance in the last episode but not specifically as this character, which is as spoiler free as I can say that
i mean, we were rooting for it, but i dont think it was possible for them with where they are mentally. i like to think that time in budapest is gonna make dom a bit less tense and stop her from holding onto her shit, and darlene will do some soul searching and become less dependent on others, idk. and then they'll meet again. i mean it's pretty obvious they're head over heels with each other
Just not in that moment. They needed to grow, heal and be in the right head-space before they could truly be together. Dom needed the trip and Darlene needed to stop escaping and be independent. They'll get together when they're done.
Don't know anything about this series. Came here cuz of the song, u may say. But this... Uh man. This makes me get attached to this thing and now I wanna see it.
I love Mr.Robot's soundtrack and I love Run Away With Me by Carly Rae Jepsen, but honestly this is the only part in the show where the song doesn't fit with the scene. This is a drammatic moment and the song is a happy one.
I would actually argue that it fits the scene perfectly. First, because they are trying to run away from all the shit that's been happpening together. So in a literal sense it fits, because it describes what Darlene actually wanted to do. It might be a bit too on the nose, but I can forgive that. Secondly, the song gives you a false sense that everything is going to work out. We've seen this kind of airport scene in thousands of romcoms before: just before the guy or girl leaves, their love interest shows up and they kiss... cue happy music. The happy music makes us believe that the same thing is going to happen here, except... you know... it doesn't. And it feels like a slap in the face, because the music made us believe something else was going to happen. I think it is a very powerful juxtaposition.
People hate everything until something hurts them or someone they care about. Unless you've interacted with someone from the community, you won't know how they feel.
