Great thanks for the video. Provided me with peace of mind that i was doing the right thing, without the thought in the back of my head could i burn down the house.
What what what???? You mean that YOU, Solona Lee, HAVE AN AMERICAN AND EUROPEAN STYLE SPOTLIGHTS????? Hoooo my god!!! I'm so excited writing this that my hands are shaking. I will tell it to everyone. Do you have plans next weekend? Maybe you can come over. I'll take you to a restaurant of your choice. Do you like Greek, Portuguese, Italian cuisine?
That's a good question, and the answer is no. Not all MR16 lamps use a transformer. I'd recommend to first turn off your breaker, and go remove one of your MR16s and look for a sticker inside the device. Take a picture of it. Mine says: 60hz = No transformer. In that case, I just opted for an easy solution: On amazon they sell a product called: 'MR16 to Gu10 Adapter,TWDRTDD MR16 to Gu10 Lamp Base Converter (3-Pack)' for 12.99 CAD + shipping (I would gladly send you the link, bur youtube doesn't allow that). I have 6 MR16 to convert to GU10 so I ordered 2 packs of 3. I will try it and if it doesn't work, I will just ship it back.
Jiwan Sagar it does need to be earthed (grounded) It works in mains voltage and the fitting is metal. I have yet to come up with a satisfactory method of connecting an earth wire to these kind of fittings
Dont wish slam the video, I am more concerned that there was no electrical testing to ensure the power was actually isolated, also the screw driver should be isolated.
