Thank you so much. Just got the skull beads a month ago trying to come up with something to make my friend for her bday on Halloween. Tried a few things just didn't work. Love it. I'm so excited to try this ring. The band is awsome. I learn something new from every veido you bless us with. Love and hugs from Georgia.
Hi Stephanie I tried doing the earrings and stuffed it up big time and I gave up however then I came across this ring and thought lets give it another go and for some reason I actually picked it up. I tried following on other projects of your but some how I never get it right woohoo finally I got one. It looks awesome I did not put the skull in the center I used an 8mm ruby instead. Thank you so much. Your teaching method has changed somewhat from your past videos I find them more user friendly towards beginners. This is the first ever ring I have been able to do. My granddaughter is coming to visit I hope to teach her this and if not teach her then make one for her while she is here. Hugs
Thank you Emanuella🌻😊🙏 I have learned so much about tracing in a video er the last few years! Than you for noticing. I want everyone to be able to make these pieces💕 or at least learn something from them!
What a CUTE design...!! And I love love love the MRAW Ring Band!! Very cool and very solid - I see lots of applications for that stitch as well. YOU da BEST STEPH❣️❣️ thank you most kindly for another great & fun video❣️
Hi Stephanie! I love...love the ring! I remember last year when you made the other ring and began to wear it!! I thought that one was so pretty, but I struggled to make the princess ring, so after the first ring I didn’t make another one for the skull. I’m so happy to see you make a different, easier ring, with a small and simple band! I will make one hopefully this weekend!! Thank you for sharing your new design with the skull bead!! You are such a fabulous teacher!! See you soon!! ❤️💀📿🦄
I have learned so much about beading from your videos.... so glad you turned up on my home page a suggested video for me. I struggle to follow some of the other videos, but not with yours. Thanks so much! PS: it’s Debbie, female half of GypsyPair
Cute ring and just in time for Halloween. I love love love that modified stitch, it's going to look great in our future jewelry tutorials. Thanks for sharing this pretty ring and new stitch.
This is my first ring. I love, ❤️ this ring. Was so much fun to make. I thought I was going to fit on my middle finger, but ended up fitting my little finger, and I love it. I’m so excited. My first ring I made. Thank you 😊. I have noticed some of the eyes are not filled all the way. So I have used gel pins to fill in the eyes. Works perfectly. Plus you can use any color. Loving it. Just some information.
Oooo-Halloween chic--how fun!! My stash skulls are too big (11x14mm) so.....Hi ho hi ho, it's off to the store I go! Thanks, Stephanie, for sharing this "cute as all get out" ring design.
Excellent use of MRAW! Been a very big fan of the stitch since the first Contemporary Geometric Beadwork book came out. Just a helpful hint for your viewers - don't size the band until you've put the embellishment on the opposite side - you won't get a true sizing (it'll read as too big), but it's easy to add another unit. Also, if the sizing doesn't work with 11/0s - too small, but then too big when adding one more unit, switch to Delicas, which are slightly smaller, and of course, much more consistently sized.
Thank you so much. This is a wonderfully clear tutorial! You explain it so well and the picture is great too! I have always struggled with right angle weave so this is very helpful.
Oh such a fun project!! I made 6 today for my grandkiddos, daughters, and course me too🐱 very fast to make and so many variations. Thank you again!!👏:-D ~dena
Stephanie, awesome skull ring!!! And the MRAW stitch just sets this ring off!! I can't wait to get started, I know a few friends whose girls would love to have this for Halloween!!! So cool and easy and with plenty of time to whip up a bunch!!!! I love your vids and your teaching methods. You're are so sweet and lovely to follow. T4S and keep um coming, can't get enough!!! Always watching and waiting for more vids. Happy beading and GOD BLESS!!! Your subbie friend and biggest fan!!! Slimkim from MI!!!!♥️👍🤗👋
I made this ring nice but I improvised yep changed the head to a swavorski crystal rondell, had the 2 swarvorski bicons and I didnt have pearls so I put 8/0 seed beads and the 11/0s the band is so comfortable. But you have to keep measuring if not it will be too big. Came out really nice I love it. Thank you.........
@@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry You are welcome Stephanie. Thank you. I meant to ask what to replace it with, I appreciate you letting me know. Enjoy your day!
I have a different skull bead than this but it should work. My friend will love this ring! Thank you so much for another informative video with a creative design!
So I made this ring a 2nd time this one came out even prettier white luster 11/0, 2mm crystal clear bicons, 3mm Swarovski bicones so with it being all white and crystal it looks really nice. I love the band alot. Thanks again.........
Thank you for sharing this Steph. I have 3 different sized skull beads that were given to me and had no clue what to make with them. Outside of what i call a boring old stretch wrap lol. Not that I have a problem with stretch wraps I personally like more "complicated" designs. Huge hugs
If you make one unit with the bicone, then put the skull on a different way ("sideways" to the way it is here),then put another bicone section, then turn it to vertical, you have a cute skull earring. My son came home with a bunch of these beads from a closing store, so I'm on the lookout now for ways to use them. I don't wear rings, but will try this method for a pair of earrings.
This stitch is so adorable. Love it. But, then, I love your channel and I am thrilled to see that you have posted another video. What a great teacher. Would it be possible for you to teach a twisted right angle weave? Saw a necklace done this way and it looked beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
@@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry no, it is not cubic which I know how to do. But right angle weave with a twist. Julia Gerlach who used to be editor of Bead & Button created a beautiful necklace doing this. She used 8/0, 11/0 and 15/0. Using different shades of turquoise and gold in one picture and shades of purple in another. Somewhat what you do in your beautiful designs. Somehow when I follow the directions I don't know if I am doing it correctly. If it is possible I would scan a picture for you. And, thank you for your reply. Love you!!
Hi Stephanie .. love your tutorials , i have learned so much from you . i was wondering if the skull beads from the dollar bead box would work in this design ?
Really cool ring. I love all your jewelry designs. Do you think a scarab bead would fit instead of the skull bead? They seem to be a similar shape. Thanks so much for all your wonderful videos.
Well, that was fun! I didn't have a skull bead, but in my stash I found a similar shaped bead and... IT WORKED! Totally pretty with the count of beads you told us to use. And the mraw band is wonderful. Will definitely include this in my working beader repertoire. Oddly, when I tried to do the Victoria ring a while back I didn't like the way it turned out. I think the shaped bead in the center holds its position better than the round bead in the Victoria? Is that possible?
Love all your tutorials but Halloween has a special place in my heart. Would using the stretch thread work? I want to make this for my friends daughter but I don't have her ring size. Thank you for your help!
+Melissa Haggard Thank you Melissa😃🌻🤣 I’m not sure which thread you are talking about. Something like Nozue Sonoko will help but not make it super stretchy. Nylon stretchy thread won’t fit through the needle. I suggest asking your friend for her daughter’s ring size and use the Nozue Sonoko to it give it a bit of stretch.
I apologize for being the beginner with the super silly questions but how exactly did you all end up with the tail thread and working thread coming out of opposite ends of the band once it was completed and ready to attach to the skull part of the ring? I understood every other part extremely well this being my first ring and all if any one could let me know i would appreciate it thank you
Ignore the both threads at each end ( I should have cut that one off after I reinforced) and continue with the working thread ( thread on needle) to attach both ends. Sorry for the confusion 😊
So I learned bead weaving watching your Channel. Awesome... Cuz I love the style you do it's my kind of taste. So anyway I have skull Pete but the metal and the holes I'm not at the top of the head to the bottom of the jar there from the top of the ear to the other side of the ear you know what I mean? Just wondering how I would do that when it goes in sideways any pointers
Bluejay! They are beautiful but oh so noisy!! LOL Nice band! I don't care much for the skulls (Skulls in general give me the YUCKS) but I think it would look grate with another shapely bead!
They are sooo noisy and a little aggressive 🤣 If I'm in my yard and they are nesting, they get very upset! Being a mother myself, I understand LOL Glad you like the band. Haha - I'm a real fan of Halloween. You could use a 6mm pearl or crystal or any 6mm bead for this ring 🧡
I love Swarovski Skull beads! Unfortunately it’s too big for the netting. The largest bead that will fit is an 8x6mm. You can try to adjust the netting.
Why are we skipping the pearls for the casing around the skill bead? What is the function for it? I personally learn better from explanations of those small details. You don't quite explain why.
+Kristina Rosenberg Skipping the pearls makes them pop up and sets the squarish base for the center bead. I explain the process in the Victoria Ring ( the original) which I refer to in the video and have linked in the description under this video. Sometimes when I use a technique that I have used in several previous videos, I refer to the slower more involved video for viewers who have not done the technique previously. Hope this helps 😃🎃💀
