Fascinating to watch all the different versions of this on line and see how easy some make it and how HARD others do. Kate - you rock - yours makes sense!!! Bless youxxxxxxxxx
Hi Kate,Thank you so much for making this video! As a fairly new beader (3 years) in my late 50's, I discovered peyote and love doing it.A good friend and experienced beader sent me this book for Christmas. I was ecstatic! After the holidays when everything had finally quieted down, I read through the book, drooled over the pictures and then proceeded to get started actually practicing the techniques. I had no problem following along in the book with the MRAW Band and the Tri-Wing Ring. My skill is still iffy, but I'm getting better. I finally started on the chapter for Zigged Bands and hit a roadblock. It was New Year's Eve and I was in the middle of a "Senior Moment" breakdown. I just couldn't figure it out from the instructions or the graph. This morning, I remembered your RU-vid channel, pulled up your videos and "viola", this video was there. I watched it and of course, the lightbulb came! Duh! Something so simple, yet I had made it into something terribly complicated... I would say that being a "leftie" had something to do with it, but that's not true... Once again, thank you!
WOW!!! i consider myself an intermediant beader and i try to break down patterns to make it easier. I visuallize the architecture of the item and proceed, BUT I am so impressed you made this geometric shape so completely easy. Far better than i could see it. IMPRESSED! Thank you for being kind enough to show. You are one fantastic teacher and i love that your voice and the birds tweeting are so smooth and lovely. This will help me so very much. thanks you to infinity!
I have the book, but until seeing the video I was unable to completely understand the process. The instructions in the book are very sketchy, but this tutorial video is very good. Thank you for adding this element to aid in understanding.
Kate what size are the beads you are using? I honestly cannot get that nice tight tension even with the Nymo B from the cone. I’m trying with Myuki #11 delicas. Many many practice rounds done!
I am using delicas in size 10 and am really struggling how to figure out how make sets of peaks and valleys to make an 8" bangle. Right now I have 60 sets or rather an "event" every 6th bead for a total of 5 peaks and 5 valleys. I have not connected into a circle or bangle yet and wish there was a video showing how to connect a strip together. I will say you seem very bright and have shown us how to do things much quicker than anyone else I have followed. But, I sometimes feel a bit stranded because not all of the information is shown to us. But I am hanging in there because it does seem worth it after some trial and error.
I manged the first part just fine, but things went wrong when I added the second layer..:-( It does not look like yours at all. It looks more like wings. What am I doing wrong? I have both your books, but still can't work it out. Please help...:-)
Well, I can see right now, I'm going to have to learn something else first in order to do this!! LOL Do you have a vid showing how to do the initial strip?
Sending out an sos.! I am doing my first ever band and am having some issues. I did my first one and I did 14 increases and it is huge so I am wondering if the decreases count as a point as well or is it only the increases that count as a point?
