It doesn't matter if you spent 30 years studying chess as a phenomenal chess player is a top 20 GM. You either have it or you don't. Especially as an adult.
Chess would be way too skill based, to the point it doesn't even feel like a board game. Not as entertaining and very predictable who will win the tournament if you get higher elo players. Coming from a chess player myself (1750)
There is a difference between phenomenal chess player and GM. You could be a phenomenal soccer player but never go pro. I think of phenomenal as like 1800-2000 rating which is very much so possible
That's what I've been saying. That's why I hate baseball so much. If you look at the records for baseball teams, the worst team in history still won something like 40 games in a year. If the worst team in history is able to win 40 games, then that means it's based too much on luck. The worst team in history should have won no games. I prefer a sport where skill actually results in winning with a little bit of luck needed in order to still create those awesome moments where an upset can occur.
The players are human, so sometimes they randomly play amazing and sometimes they randomly play horrible. It’s a variance in performance + close in skill not luck.
@@Ryder.Draconis yall are forgetting to add a word, worst PROFESSIONAL team. they are collectively the worst team but made up of very very good players
