Hey! I have a question. Can I sit both these exams right after MBBS? Or do I need to join surgical training in my country to clear them? I know the eligibility criteria doesn't require it, but can an intern prepare well for the exam? How hard is it to crack the MRCS as an intern?
Yep, it is possible for an intern to crack the exam. Spend more time practicing for the part B exam. But some surgical experience is needed to land a job(in the NHS) post MRCS. Hence it is advisable to have a surgical job (if not for training) while you prepare and give the exam.
@@synapse8990 thanks for replying! However, what if I apply for a non-training job after MRCS? Will two years of non-surgical clinical experience be sufficient for that? I can take up training after working for a year or two in the UK. Thanks.
Hi mam..i had a doubt.. I'm done with my mbbs and internship in april 2024..i have 2 year state bond here in India.. can i still give MRCS part 1 exam with my provisional licence?
@@charusaraswat8596 Hello…Degree certificate is necessary to appear for the MRCS exam. You could try contacting the RCS if provisional certificate is accepted. You do not need license to apply for the exam.
Indian candidates usually opt for England or Edinburgh Royal College for sitting for MRCS OSCE exam. Is there any difference in the exam pattern or evaluation criteria for Ireland Royal College that the candidates prefer the former over the latter? It would be really appreciated if you could shed some light on that. Thanks.
@@rachitwadhawan99 MRCS is an Intercollegiate exam, hence there is no difference in the level of difficulty of the exam. The pattern and answers remain same for all the four Royal colleges.
Thank you for the wonderful, informational video. Could you please tell me after the payment for Part A is done, what is the next step. Before payment the instructions said we need to submit the documents by post to them .Is it so?
Yes.. you will have to send the medical degree certificate and the declaration form to the Royal college. Make sure that the copy of medical degree is attested by the head of the institution before posting it
You need to complete both MRCS part A and part B. Clear OET/ IELTS, get EPIC verification by ECFMG, and then GMC registration. With this you can apply for Core surgical training in the UK.
Diploma from all the four colleges are equal and same. RCS Edinburgh is the oldest ( ppl prefer for its name and repute) RCS England - mrcs from England is recognised in India by the NMC ( this is to practice surgery in India without a surgical post-graduation from India)
Hi doc , i have a qs if some1 did their mbbs or equivalent degree from russia like country which is of 6years can they directly attempt MRCS exam without FMGe exam of india, or do we need to complete our FMGe and intership in home country after than only one can sit in the exams like Usmle/mrcs/plab/Amc !? N the exams centre can be in our country or only in uk?
@@Pk99562 If your primary medical qualification is recognised by GMC / Royal college then you are eligible to give the exam. You could do this by going onto the Royal college or GMC website.
@@synapse8990 how can one know and check whether the medicine degree from russia for indian students valid in GMC/royal College or not? And cam we practice as a doctor after MRCS for full time?
Hi, Doc MRCS partA guidance needed and how much period would be enough to get through all the syllabus and important yields. what is passing rate? Duration of exam and number of question? Please a complete detailed video.
@@ahadpathan4271 After MRCS, GMC registration must be done. You can apply for training or non training jobs in the UK. Mostly ppl apply for non training jobs, gain NHS experience and then plan to apply for training jobs.
Hi doc i have a question , i have graduated in 2024 and wanted to pursue mrcs but i want my post grad in ophthalmology can u guide me how it can be achieved
@@shubhangiteotia895 you will have to give the RCOpthal exam. MRCS is for General Sx, ortho and their subspecialities. For more info check the Royal college of Ophthalmologists website.
1. Means to move to the UK 2. Easy to get jobs in the Middle East/ Singapore/ Australia 3. Higher pay in the corporate set up 4. Makes your CV stand out and makes it easier for you to get the dream job/ training/ post.
If we pass mrcs and get gmc registeration, do we need to take middle east licencencing exam like DHA ,HAAD or we can apply for jobs without taking these exams ?
Hello Ma’am I’m from India Should I compete post graduation in surgery (MS)to work in India before MRCS or directly after my MBBS if I write MRCS and complete my course in UK then come back to India can I work here without doing PG in India
Hello sudhanshu In your situation the answer depends on where you would like to settle. Post graduation in India is 3 years. It takes 8 years to complete training in the UK. So yeah, to recommend the best option for you I would need more information about your preferences and choices.
Hello mam Yesterday i passed sept 2023 session for MRCS A EDINBURGH WANT TO GO FOR PART B IN FEB ENGLAND SO FIRST I HAV TO BOOK FOR ENGLAND AND THAN SEND THE SCANNED DOCUMENTS AS IN WINDOW THEY ARE NOT ASKING FOR THE DOCUMENTATION TO BE UPLOADED?
Congratulations dr Faizan!! 👏🏻 You will have to wait for the exam booking dates to be open, Next you will need the part A pass certificate/ record from RCS Edinburgh ( which will be send via email ) With the above two things all of bed you will be able to book your exam…
Hi ma'am, You are such an inspiration! Kindly do make a video when you are free ❤ Really appreciate the time and effort you put to make these videos, really helpful
MRCS is for general surgery its allied branches and orthopaedics. For ENT you will have to sit the diploma of HNS exam. Details will be available on the RCS website
Is there any possibility of giving both mrcs exam and later come back India ? Do I need to write any exam to work in India or will they accept me on the basis of mrcs degree ?
If you currently have MBBS degree and plan to do MRCS and move to the UK then it is advisable to do MRCS England as it s recognised by the NMC and you will be able to practice in India, when ever you plan to return
1) I am Indian citizen completed my mbbs degree in Philippines Can I give both part A and part B MRCS exam in India ? 2) for giving mrcs 1 year internship is enough right after my graduation or anything else is required ?
Hi Doc, I have completed my MBBS from Philippines and I want to go for MRCS. Have spoken to an agent he suggested me to do a MSC ONCOLOGY course ( A PG course) after which I would be eligible for MRCS PART A. As we don’t really know anything in depth, we are trusting the agent and this pathway involves a lot of money so that’s why I would like to know your suggestion on the same.
You won’t be needing a PG course to be eligible to write MRCS. Post MBBS and internship completion you can give the exam. Thoroughly check the credibility of the agency.
@@synapse8990 Thank You so much for replying. But as I have graduated from PHILIPPINES, we had our Clerkship there in the hospital and not any internship. May I know how do I proceed if I want to give the MRCS exam part A
Also can I know that after passing MRCS PART A.. WHATS THE NEXT PROCESS ? My agent was saying il have to get into 2 years core surgical training and after which I would be able to give MRCS part B. Kindly advise
@@vasudhabhattacharya0102 After you pass part A, you can book part B exam immediately. You don’t have to do any training. Beware of fraudulent agencies.
You will need a photo ID to enter the examination hall. My personal experience was that - just Aadhar card was sufficient at my exam centre (my centre was in Bangalore). But for part B exam passport is must. In all I suggest you take your passport to the exam centre (even for part A)to be on a safer side.
