In the army your actually sometimes not allowed to warm up the mre because the enemy troops can see the steam and locate your base so eating it cold is the true experience
I mean, I sure hope you’re smart enough to not sit there in front of the enemy, in the middle of the night… with a hot steaming bag of food. At that point it’s kinda your fault haha
@@NnrNnrBuBuImBtrThnU ok thank you I just thought cause I did some research but thank you for telling me so I’m not spreading mis information in the future
My husband who was enlisted at Ft Bragg used to bring home MRE"s every month.(they were within 90 days of expiration) Absolutely Loved them!! Being on a military budget, I welcomed them!❤
@@lancestrickland6208 They have a shelf-life of four to five years, but even when they expire, it's not like they go moldy or anything. Chocolate will bloom, (ie turn white, but not dangerous at all) drink mixes will turn into bricks, and the Cornnuts will go rancid.
@@riverofblood4362 ah yes, our barely trained soldiers with barely functioning guns will obliterate an army of elite soldiers and powerful machine guns because we're happy
@@tinnguyenanimations522Considering the main country that uses this is the United States (most powerful military on the planet) I’m pretty sure having a high moral doesn’t hurt in the slightest.
As a guy who experienced this first hand and the different kinds of MRE, I smiled knowing how bad some of the other MRE's are. The best part is watching everyone try and choose the MRE they want (specifically for candy, cake, or cookies) 😂
Well that makes sense. If an Airforce personnel has to stay in Army barracks, they get paid extra called substandard living conditions pay. Airforce be living that boogie life.
My grandfather was in the Army in WW2, not sure his occupation but I know he helped with the code talkers, my father was Air Force in Vietnam as a jet mechanic, I'm Army infantry, been to Afghanistan and I'm trying to convince my son to go Airforce and pick an occupation that can transfer over in the civilian life and hopefully there's no wars going on then. Lol
My step had some in the 80s n 90s. I only liked the white spreadable cheese and huge crackers. Id sit there watching new episodes of Beavis and Butthead
The chicked pulled in buffalo style sauce was always my favorite. I was told it was discontinued several years back. That breaks my heart. Soldiers are really missing out on a true gem.
As someone who uses ration packs (what you’re eating) for training! It’s honestly way better than I had first thought, and it actually does the trick. But we’re all definitely dying to get normal food again 😂
The reason why it is smoking is because the magnesium is reacting with the water and boiling it at extreme rates leading to the cooking process of your food.
I've heard terrible things about the MRE's from the states. Apparently they don't care much about providing their soldiers with food that tastes good, just the caloric count. While MRE's from Canada, they're taste tested, reviewed, and only the best of the best are served to our soldiers cause Canada's military knows that a happy soldier is much better than a miserable one
This is the first mre taste test where someone said it was good, but something tells me the other ones I've seen have been on the more expired end of things.
MREs are actually designed so they can be eaten cold without too much of an impact on the taste. They're still perfectly edible, fully precooked. This is because in some situations, heating it up brings risks like the steam being seen by enemies and giving away your location, or a mistake leading to someone getting burned or dealing with an unwanted fire.
Bro the Mres are such a gamble like when you were training hard all morning and finally get lunch and it’s like elbow macaroni with that sauce it’s so sad.
Im a Boyscout and Sense my scout masters were in the army one of them has a who shed full of boxes of MREs and when he showed my brother his shed he said he was "running low" on MREs
