Studio Ghibli movies will always have a special place in my heart. We would watch them all the time growing up, and Kiki's Delivery Service was always one of my very favorites. When I made my first big move away from my childhood home and family, I found myself gravitating towards that movie. I found myself feeling a lot like Kiki, and so I wrote this song for me and her.

So I actually heard this song before I saw Kiki’s Delivery Service (since Netflix now has the Ghibli movies on their service) and I kept wondering when this song would appear...and when it didn’t, I came back here and realized that it’s an OG song!!! This fits it so well and I LOVE this song so much!

Came across the song on Spotify and had such a déjà vu feeling like I already knew the song somehow. Funny thing is, as far as I know, I've never heard of the song before, but this song kinda had a place in my mind and heart already. I felt I was familiar with the song from the first second. I have never heard a voice with such control in quiet passages. Such a gift. I work with kids with emotional needs and at the end of the day, this music is the perfect therapy.

I've been coming back to this song on and off over the last few years. Life has had some really extreme ups and downs, and I listen to a lot of pretty calm sort of sad music. Over time this song became something i came back to a lot especially driving early morning to my shift at starbucks on days i just didnt want to get up. This is one of the few songs that reminds me of who I am and what I love about myself, especially when things are bad.

This song is so beautiful! You captured the whole movie in it. The guitar, how flowy it is, like you are flying on a broom with her. This song got me at the “ all waving like birds on the fence” 😢 that really reminds me of my parents when they were alive, my mom liked to wait for me at the fence 10 min prior to my arrival, when I left shopping for groceries. After their passing, I once had a dream about them, only to wake up with tears on my pillow, seriously “ no use in dreaming “. But I only get to see my loved ones in dream now. The lyric really made me cry. Cuz it’s exactly how I felt… really love this song!❤

I just watched Kiki's Delivery Service this morning with my son. Talk about full circle. It came out the year I was born and I remembered it from when I was 3 and searched for it until I got married and my husband confirmed that it was a real movie and told me the name of it. She was in my heart that whole time. 3 year old me never forgot her. The song is perfect for her and you. Both unforgettable.❤
