Excellent video! Sound was perfect:).... this info is fascinating to me, and its amazing the importance of the brain and all it controls. Im a utility telephone lineman/cable splicer, and discovered my first symptom after i had finished climbing a pole on a hot day. I noticed my feet felt like pins and needles. My first thought was i figured i was just dehydrated.. 3 months later of testing and more numbness in different areas like my stomach and hands, i was diagnosed with RRMS. I really appreciate your videos!

This video was amazing! It would be awesome if you could do a more detailed video going over the sensory and motor tracts in detail with where they cross, etc!

Great and comprehensive! However, Broca's area is located in the inferior frontal gyrus, not middle.

Hi I want to ask a quick question. What does it mean that the basilar artery is not visualized. Is it anything I should worry. Thank You so much Doc 😊

Hi, Ann in Sweden, read loads of research images of mri sella and brain. If the pituary gland and areas around splenoid backwards s to the frontal sinuses, , with contrast opacifies as looking white - is that normal? thanks for great videos

Would a neuro quad MRI of the brain pick up and show any progression of tonsillar ectopia/chiari malformation. Mine approaches 5mm. Also, can it assess inadequate flow? Also, I have epilepsy. Would it differentiate atrophy due to epilepsy or just dementia? Thanks.

When you said mid-brain I chuckle because I thought about the seen from young Frankenstein where he discusses the anatomy of the brain. Because of my cognitive impairment obviously I can recall movie lines from years and years ago my wife gets frustrated because I can’t remember something for five minutes ago which is my working memory is damaged

Wow! This video is packed with so much helpful information. Your depth of knowledge is remarkable. Thank-you, Dr. Beaber. I have heard Doctors reference the Mickey Mouse Sign. Can the MM Sign be seen on a normal MRI, such as your example? (I thought I saw it on the Axial View and I am feeling pretty pleased with myself) What symptoms does the Mickey Mouse influence?
@DrBrandonBeaber
@DrBrandonBeaber 4 года назад
Thanks for the compliment. Usually the mickey mouse sign represents the structure of the midbrain (see the leftmost image at 3:41 in the video, in the center). The midbrain has nuclei which control many of the extraocular muscles along with descending motor fibers in the cerebral peduncles). I think the "mickey mouse sign" has a different meaning with ultrasound.

Do you think you could cover a video speaking about patients that are on a DMT that lower the immune system, and the rising concern of covid-19... im coming off being sick from the flu 3 weeks ago and its held up my ocrevus infusion, but all this hype has me concerned about doing the infusion for the risk i may face. Would this be a worthy video, or maybe just a comment :) thanks!

I probably won't do a video on this particular topic, but let me direct you to the excellent video on Ocrevus an COVID-19 by Dr. Aaron Boster: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eo_e-d2tJeg.html

my brother died last april 4, 2020 unable to read his MRI into a neurologist during enhance community quarantine. for the hospital doctor said there is no available neurologist during pandemic. he was advice to go home with no medication prescribed even in his ill condition, and advice to wait until 1 month until a doctors availability ,My brother can seldom speak and cannot walk by himself . he was admitted on march 13 for being unconscious while in the comfort room and discharged on march 18 after mri. and on april 3 he was rush in to the hospital again because he was not awaken but still breathing. his breathing was slowly dropped when he arrived in the hospital until he breathed the last and died. I hope, there would a neurologist that can read the MRI of result of my brother. thank you

Hey, black area in left prefrontal cortex, 22 y/o male, T2W_FEE. Normal finding? (It doesn't look like the right side).
@Mishalalzahrani_
@Mishalalzahrani_ 3 года назад
Sent it to some of my friends (did Neuro block, they're 2nd year medical students), they said that it's either air (pneumocephalus) or fat.

@@DrBrandonBeaber Sorry to bother you Dr., But I was wondering if I should bring it up to my neurologist, I had a status epilepticus a year ago after stopping antidepressants due to unwanted side-effects, and I felt pressure behind the left side of my forehead for 2 weeks after that (with change in my psychological state [I felt somehow disconnected ever since, and like a part of who I am got deleted right after the 'convulsion?' stopped, and like when I'm here, a fraction of me isn't here. And yes, this this could be a psychological response to the scary sudden convulsion, or antidepressant withdrawal symptoms, but ruling out physical causes is a start, and the location of that black part on the T2W_FEE was just bugging me, because I recall calling a national medical number where I live after that incident, and I was told by the doctor that the "pressure" I felt behind my forehead could've been due to brain swelling, especially when I didn't feel like myself during it {I now remember that I had pins and needles with that, behind my eyes; and that whole period my head felt like it was on fire}]). This is the MRI slide photos.app.goo.gl/aDTCSnFmC1NAAk1F7 Everything else in the MRI study was normal. No change in brain structure or any structural abnormality that would cause seizure activity. Recent EEG showed "bitemporal epileptogenic dysfunction, without generalization to other brain areas". There is a bigger more specialized hospital I could go to (operated by John's Hopkins), and I could just pressure on seeing a specialist/consultant about it. But it would be a drag, and I don't want to go that path if this whole thing was "meritless". °Other thing is I can't get this out of my head either...
