I am calling BS on this. I am indian living in Norway. This is somewhat inspired by that story, but I won't call it based on that story. Let me tell you why. I have no respect for so-called based on true stories movies, which are based on one-sided version. Moms book, moms movie. In this particular case, NO ONE asked for fathers version to just get his side of the story, before portraying him to be wife-beater. Maybe mom said this, or its part of Bollywood masala. Does that mean that in all cases, mothers are always right? Doesn't custody battles tend to get ugly, with both parties accusing eachother. Indian men, is it perfectly ok for you that in all cases, your ex-wife is always right? Is it OK for you that nobody is interested in your version? What she says is true? If she says you beat her it's always true. If she says you beat the kids, it's true! If she says she saw you molesting your child, to win the custody battle, her truth is the only truth. Can men out there, really accept that? Even in court of law, both sides are heard, before any judgment is given, and this father is standing in the court of public opinion, and has no means to defend himself to hundreds of millions of people all around the globe. Only because producers failed to do the right thing before writing the script.I am indian and a mother. Can all the men out there perfectly ok with this fact that your side, your feelings doesn't matter. My God. Unless the father is lying to us, he is saying that nobody contacted him to hear his version. Whatever his ex wife said was accepted as the ultimate truth. Maybe she is telling the truth, maybe he is a wife-beater, but doesn't the most fair thing had been for producers of the movie to contact him. Before accusing him as wife-beater in public court. The reasons given in the trailer are in fact the reasons that were given back then. I followed the case, as an Indian living in Norway, this was close to my heart. But for me these reasons didn't make sense, and still doesn't. Atleast the reasons given in the trailer. Why, you ask!! Because none of the reasons are against the law. NONE, as in zero. I have done that multiple times over the years. I have hand fed my children, my children have co-slept with me for years. I witness parents of all ethnicity incl Norwegians themselves, Co-sleeping with their babies and kids, all the time at my work place, when I have nightshift, I work in pediatric ward in a hospital. Why does all these parents Co sleep, because it's NOT against the law. It's not a question about cultural differences. Why, you ask! Because this isn't even about cultural differences, this is damn basic paternal instinct, in humans and animals. We didn't have spoon or knife and fork earlier. Humans have Hand-fed their children with their hands for thousands of years. Basic instinct. I am not against mother in question here. She got to give her side of the story, she got to pour out her emotions, maybe they are true or maybe not. My problem is with the producers of the movie. They didn't ask for comment neither from father or the local barnevern authorities, who were in charge, back then. You should have asked them, the very people who were in the middle of international backlash, about what their truth is. By this make up your own opinion, about the case. Barnevern probably wouldn't have told anything, because of confidentiality clause, but at least you tried. I am telling you, this is about much more than cultural differences, there is more to the story. I might see the movie and see what else mother gave as reasons, but I can not with good conscious, just accept this one-sided story. If I am to automatically take side of the mom, because I am indian, well the father is indian too. Someone standing with him, and support him. Everyone out there mothers or the fathers, are you perfectly ok with the other party using their influence in court or government, and with that kind of pressure, your side doesn't stand a chance. I am saying this as a mother, indian mother, living in Norway. I am not allowing myself to have an opinion based on sentiments, rather than gathering information from all sides and then reach any conclusion. I believe we all learned that in primary or middle school. Gather information, put it together, analyze it and then make a conclusion. My God, I feel sorry for all you fathers out there, you guys really don't stand a chance, because all those mothers out there are always right. No question asked.

I think you also need citizenship. Many of my colleagues was working that time in Norway. It is based on the true story. All the TV debates of that time is still present in you tube. Indian Govt. was also fully involved to get the children out of Norway.

@@secular7396 The right term is, it's inspired by a true story. I live in Norway and followed the case back then. Indian governments involvement doesn't automatically mean that Norway was in wrong. It means that the mother had connections higher up. While I do understand that it's terrible for a parent to suddenly have their children taken away. I do understand that indian government means that children should be brought up in India. I can not, with good conscious, take side of the part who is telling things that are not true, only because I am an Indian mother too, living in Norway What Norway did or didn't so or whatever, it doesn't change the fact that reasons in the trailer are not true. None of the reasons mentioned are against the law. You will find indian RU-vid videos, but none that shows anything about this case, due to confidentiality clause. I have seen video of the father of this children, ten years old video, where father Verifies that their family had issues. I have the link if you would want to watch it.

@@Ms.P.Sharma I have seen that video. After their break up the father made up stories. He tried to spread propaganda. That will not work any more.
