I think what happened is that the husband probs lied to Martha, saying that he and his wife got a divorce, and Ms. Mayberry got angry with both of them and didn’t know the truth until she met with Martha in hell and then they made up

But honestly I can see them meeting up in hell and Mayberry being all petty and then the other goes 'oh please you're just jealous cause you've never had good sex' and Mayberry gets all flustered and tries to defend herself only for her to get up close and go 'prove it' ....I may have read one too many fanfic growing up
I think it was a situation where they met up, actually talked about what happened, and found some common ground with the ex-husband sucking big time. I am fully willing to bet she didn't know he was married.
I like this one person theory on the chain of events. 1. They started hunting and killing each other in hell. 2: then they got bored and started hate fucking. 3. They eventually got into a more loving relationship. They still occasionally kill each other for fun.
Doesn't help the poor woman likely had a complete collapse of faith and by extension the morals they enforced when that "one bad day" sent her straight to hell. Now she's essentially immortal and stuck in hell (which is surprisingly livible) , and things she would have never considered are now on the table and surprisingly more alluring than ever because at this point whats stopping her? If she's gonna be stuck in hell might as well cut loose, have fun, and seek pleasures they denied themselves in life since there's no longer anything left to lose.

@@van_ol1056 oh she did indeed mess up but what I'm saying is she was likely on a one way trip to heaven, being seemingly good natured and championing its morality, but due to the actions of one she trusted dearly she lost herself in Anger, Grief, betrayal, and after uncompromising guilt and shame that made her end it all... In theory if she had never discovered the infidelity or found out in a less visceral way that would have let her keep her senses rather than lose to anger, she might have gone to heaven rather than hell for eternity. (To paraphrase DC's Joker "All it takes is one bad day for anyone to become just like me") Im not condoning her actions by any stretch, but it is all so very Human to seemingly do everything right, only for somthing outside of your control to push you to a breaking point and in this compromised state do things you would have never done, and in doing so make you lose EVERYTHING you worked so hard for, and the resulting cynicism that often follows as you left to ask what was the point of it all.
