I am a Japanese man of sixty eight, I watched the movie `The Graduate` about fifty years ago in Tokyo when I was a university student. I remember that I was moved by the movie to the bottom of my heart. It is a very nostalgic memory.
I am Hungarian man of sixty eight, I watched the movie the 'Graduate' about fifty years ago in Budapest :) World is small and easy to find equal in life people of far away lands. Regards my friend.
@@gyorgyszappanos8712 Good evening to you from Japan. Mr.Gyorgy Szappanos, you and I are of an age:sixty eight. Human nature, human emotions, humanity is universal all over the world. Give my best regards to you.
I unterstand you ! I thank that this movie conveys hopes of freddom and tolerance prevailing in Usa and Europe, fifty years ago. Now something has changed, unfortunately. Kind regards
This is a great song, but look at the way that Anne Bancroft played that role so realistically, and so well. Every line and every expression on her face is done perfectly. It's amazing.
Fresh music from two of the best voices and harmony, and singing about a common story for a lot of youngers around the world! At my 61 years old, I´m still a young boy!
This is music forever, for centuries, for everybody snd anybody. Love is since 1970 when l heard it for the firsr time and will love it always... 👍👍👍 🇷🇺 Moscow, Russia
One of my goals, when saw that movie back in '67, was to drive an Alfa convertible across the Golden Gate with Mrs. Robinson on the radio. But by the time I got out to that part of the world I was pushing 30 Alfas left the American market. I had a crappy interview for an Airline Pilots job in Fresno and didn't want to hang around so I rented a car and drove the SF to fly back home. I got to drive over the bridge, Simon and Garfunkel on the CD player the car was a Toyota Camry. My employer asked how did it go I told him the whole thing, and we then when out for a steak dinner. A week later I got checked out in the Beech 99 and I flew that airplane for 6 years. All in all, it worked out pretty well. Never been back to SF, Fishermans Wharf was pretty good I had a fresh barbecued salmon and some clam chowder.
This was a life changing experience for me. I already loved Simon and garfunkel as a 15year old but seeing this film and also being to visit America that summer really made my year. 50 years on I think they are still my favourite performers
It comes from the time when I was young, full of dreams and thinking that I could rule the world. Dreams went out, but this song keeps on doing my head and my heart.
I love this song. In school my senior year I fell in love with my History teacher who was one beautiful woman. Although we went in different directions we still talk. She is still one of my most trusted sounding boards. She is still a so fine lady.
@@Matthewsrevenge-ud4bd The song "Mrs. Robinson" was indeed part of the film's soundtrack. Simon & Garfunkel were toying around with a song called "Mrs. Roosevelt" while they were submitting songs for "The Graduate". The director liked the tune so much, he had them change it to "Mrs. Robinson" and the rest is history.
@@BrianSerpente Amazing movie! People have told me that I should make my songs available for movie soundtracks. I don't know, though. Thanks for your reply and take care.
@@petesaria-hf1xh I respectfully disagree. There were a lot of prudish, moralizing people in 1967, both religious and non-religous, who couldn't handle The Graduate. Nowadays it's considered pretty tame.
Robinson is the catastrophe in the movie; it wrecks Benjamin life, takes him from an innocent graduate to an adulterous, lowlife, cheater, so it's best if you didnt have a Robinson in your teens, in your real life I mean; Bancroft acts her character with perfection
I came home from college for the summer in my Freshman year... and met my own Mrs. Robinson... WHAT A SUMMER!.. One of the most exciting and educating experiences of my life... I hated to go back to school the next year..
Amazing movie, amazing Anne Bancroft, amazing Dustin Hoffmann, amazing soundtrack by Simon & Garfunkel and as an Italian let me tell you amazing Alfa Romeo Spider "Duetto" or better known as "Graduate" in Usa.
I know Bancroft said many times that this character ruined her life but it made the delight of a million great cinema lovers, myself included; a 10/10 movie, script, performances, casting, and music!
A May-December love affair wherein a woman is much older than a man. I LOVE THE MOVIE (Dustin Hoffman & Anne Bancroft) AND THE SONG by Simon & Garfunkel...
Perfectly portrayed the Graduates of 1969......I felt the same way as Dustin....no freakin idea of what I wanted to do with EVERYONE expecting you to have your whole life mapped out,10 minutes after you graduated.....I am 73 today and STILL arent sure what I want to do.......Pretty sure I wanted Elaine though ..................
As a kid in the 1960's, I always thought it was cool that they wrote a song about Maureen Robinson, the mother in the tv show Lost In Space. Cheers to childhood's blissful ignorance.
Not the same era but I heard someone "got the sack" as a kid which in the uk means fired and my 4 year old brain went straight to Santa telling everyone my mum had got the sack...santas sack...was not xmas either 😂
I love it when actresses get a chance to reveal how women operate in these circumstances; you know when they want something from a man. Every move she makes, every bit of her wardrobe, expression, cigarette, moving, stopping, sitting, leg up, and then smiling at a younger man. She's an older woman who the actress uses to every advantage to communicate in every way that she can harness your attention and make you want her. Essence is more important than beauty. Bancroft had essence.
As good as Dustin was in this movie, I think now its Ann that really sets it apart. There is one scene when he asks her what her major was in collage, and she says art, and her face just goes blank to show her character had dreams and goals, that will never be realized. One of my favorite actresses.
Watching this video reminds me just how excellent of a performance Anne Bancroft gave in The Graduate. And what young man wouldn't have wanted to have their own Mrs. Robinson?
