Hey Everyone!
I wanted to run my own Battery Test using the most power hungry device and app I could think of ;)
This video compares a new Contender the PrismXR Carina W1 battery life vs the previous test with Quest 3 (512gb) vs w/ Bobo Battery vs w/ Zyber Neck Battery.

Hopefully this helps and gives even more information.
This PrismXR Carina W1 and Zyber VR Neck Battery are currently some of the few known to ACTUALLY CHARGE and maintain the Quest 3 while in use!
Unfortunately most other batteries are failing to output enough power to keep a Quest 3 going... they only delay the inevitable and sometimes even last longer than the Quest internal battery itself.

Great video. Thanks for taking the time to test this. I am not really interested in the controller test however I am very interested in the Dungeons of Eternity low vs max settings and how much does it matter to the battery use. I am wondering if you will just test this using the headset battery or if you plan to use the Carina W1 again and use the results from this previous test compared to the new test you do. Might be a little bit different between the two so might be interesting to do two tests one using just the headset and one using the Carina W1. I have my ZyberVR neck battery and just waiting on my Carina W1 to be delivered in about a week or so. Good idea hooking the Carina and the ZyberVR together and I would love to know if that works. Thanks.

Thanks! Currently the plan was for just headset... But if results are inconclusive... Then I would consider the Zyber or the Carina... Perhaps I will be a true glutton for punishment and see what happens when using both ... As you could connect the Carina to the Zyber to the Quest 3 since the Zyber has both in and out ports...

I'm already getting at least 3.5 hours with my Q3 Elite battery pack so these external battery options are not really necessary, for me anyway. If I need longer runtimes I can just plugin an external 10000mahr Romoss 30w pack (bought 2x of these earlier this year from Amazon) connected using it's type-c 9v/3a output to the Elite battery charge point. I tried this the other day, after running the strap battery for around 1 hour (~50%) I them plugged in the external battery. Even after 5 hours, the Q3 headset battery was still at 100%. Soooo much confusion about Q3 battery requirements right now. Hopefully these will become clearer in the near future. All those batteries you're comparing don't seem to make spec and are probably pretty low quality imho.

I had the Q3 Elite w/battery and loved it. Finally stopped connecting to my quest yesterday after having it since launch. Comfortable and great battery life. Now I'm considering this as Meta decides whether to RMA my product.

@@ShoFuturistic I suggest you continue to work with meta support. If you go through their troubleshooting tips and this doesn’t help, I’m sure they will send you a replacement elite battery strap.

I use a converted Bobo M2 to M3 with no face gasket. If I am playing a short session I use the Bobo Battery, for longer sessions I use the Zyber Neck Battery and Carina.

Probably nothing can keep the quest 3 at 100% charge while playing and that is for safety reasons. The quest 3 will start charging slowly when it gets hot to prevent overheating.

Actually wrong. I use an Anker 45w 5A charge and cable into my Meta elite battery strap. keeps it and the headset indefinitely charged. But it Wong go to 100% due to safety reasons.

Just grabbed a prism xr belt, can't wait to play with it. Also going to save money for the low latency head phones. Is thier one usb out if the prism belt or 2?

Only 1 USB out of the Carina Belt. The Vega earbuds do have pass_thru charging though

Can you test the Binbok VR T3 plus Head Strap with Magnetic Battery Pack for Quest 3? I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet. It comes with 2x 8000mAh. Not sure on the rest of the details. With bigger batteries then the Bobovr, I wonder if it will last longer and hold a charge better.

I chose this belt battery because something doesnt feel right about having a battery sitting on the back of your head discharging. Its too early to tell if the possibility of Brain tumors or cancer could happen.

Fair concern... Although it has been 20+ years with cell phones up to our heads which are both battery and radio/other waves and output...

How do you recharge the belt? Just plug it into USB-C on your computer?

I have never worried about "overcharging" a modern device, but you could certainly ask the devs on their discord. I don't believe it would be an issue.

There should be no problem finding a good battery pack on Amazon for your headset. The question is how comfortable it us using it? Will you be using it inside your pocket, buying a belt pouch or strapping it on your headset? I think the carina w1 solves it buy making it into a belt. I've had it now for 1 week and the belt design is perfect.

man, this awful battery life is such a deal breaker for me... i don't wanna have to underclock my headset in order to play longer than just 3 hours WITH a beefy battery and high discharge. i really wish they didn't have to make such a huge compromise just to have a decent standalone headset
