Zion better be grateful! How many faithful famous moms like lauryn hill can sing a loveletter to their son like God's love letter ( the word) to us?!! So biblical. Beautiful song
Chills! ❤I remember watching this the night it aired with my mother…my mother was washing dishes and when Lauryn started humming on her first note my mother closed her eyes and said “Thank You Jesus” she didn’t even know who she was but she felt the soul. 🙏🏾
I remember the night this aired, too.. and I was in awe of her voice. I wrote her name down on a scrap of paper and went to the record shop to order her album the next day. Incredible. I was a teenager.
And to think, a year after these awards, Lauryn’s handing Album of the year to Carlos Santana, love the full circle moments. Beautiful Lauryn, so gracious, intelligent, beauty queen
This was one of the best performances of the night. I was lucky enough to be there for this incredible show. The last year the Grammy Awards felt intimate.
You could tell the room was electric that night. I will never forget watching her perform that night. Everyone was excited to watch her perform. She exuded so much power that night in her stunning white outfit. She featured Carlos Santana, which took the song to another level.
This song was before my time but I have a special connection to it… when my mother was pregnant with me she used to play me this song (she told me in my early teenage years when we would argue that she used to play this song for me) and every time I hear it I think of my mom… I miss you ma 😢
Beyond Awesome !!! A true masterpiece of soul & emotion !!! When I bought the cd I was in tears listening to Zion with that chord change in the middle that gets me every time !!!!!
J'écoutais cette chanson toute petite et je j'adorais par dessus tout. Mais je n'avais pas du tout compris les paroles et le sens de cette suoerbe chanson. 20 ans plus tard, je suis maman de deux petits garçons et j'ai compris...
From here is where I really fell in love with her exquisite music and I still remember that they televised that version of the Grammys and I was amazed with her performance. I still have the CD "The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill" imported American version and I have that full Album on my phone in FLAC format. I'm still hoping and praying for her to release an album similar to and/or better than this one. IMHO!
Please....❤ Song is about how much being pregnant.... Meant to LAURYN❤❤❤ NOT what Any other WOMAN felt about..... Being Pregnant. NOT POLITICAL OR AGENDA. Stop ✌️❤
@@cherylbarnes-hudson3709 The song is about how she knew her baby’s life “deserved a chance”. Not just about pregnancy but the LIFE inside her. Millions of unborn children saved through this song so not sure how you don’t understand my post. The culture says kill your child out of convenience if you CHOOSE to so again, they probably would not allow her to sing this today in THIS culture we’re in now.
@@cherylbarnes-hudson3709 Yes, you really don't have to listen too closely to the lyrics to understand this is a pro-life song. It's ok to like the song even if you disagree with it, but don't attempt to deny the obvious
I am pretty disappointed with this performance. I can't feel the energy and soul from the original song. She can't hit low and high tones with the same intensity. At such a show she could have make a magical and memorable performance...
