X-men is so all over the place.

Kamala's death and revival as a mutant was a ploy to match the mcu just in time for the marvels and the upcoming xmen joining the mcu soon. Same applies for Wanda's "death" in mcu , she will be reintroduced again w a new pietro once the xmen shows up in mcu.

It's odd how incredibly mighty the X-Men are, then absolutely useless they are in protecting themselves.

Imma be completely honest if the X-Men don't get a good revenge arc. Then I'm done with the X-Men. I'm sick of them having some of the most strongest people apart of their team. And they continuously keep getting bodied. They are literally walking L's at this point

dazzler can do more than just emit light. she absorbs sonic vibrations and converts it into light. she can also manipulate light. she's also immortal and can resurrect herself from death.

Just to clarify, everyone didn't stop fighting when Moira put her knife to Xavier's neck, HE stopped them using his telepathy. HE forcibly made all the mutants stop resisting and he made them all walk through the gates, seemingly to their deaths. This is the unforgivable part for Xavier. He took away everybody's free will in that moment and situation, and made the choice for them. Seeing Jean k*lled, they clearly were about to rally and most likely would have won. But Xavier took that choice away from them because he wanted to save the humans. The saying: "we don't negotiate with terrorists" exists for a reason. That's what Xavier was doing; and he placed the importance of human lives above all of the mutant lives. He in no way should've been surprised that they were going to lie and double cross him. While it's likely going to be true that the mutants weren't all k*llled (I don't think they got teleported away into the k*lling fields in the Arrako war as Rob suggests, or into a "grinder" as Xavier seems to believe and suggest. In fact, I think the comic seems to imply perhaps that Mother Righteous somehow has captured all of the mutants now?), but they could've been, and it definitely would've been on his hands, and until we see otherwise, their blood *is* on his hands. Orchis coerces and intimidates him into believing that it would be his fault if the humans all k*lled themselves, but they would be to blame because they did it. Once again, in his hubris, Charles takes that responsibility all onto himself. Orchis played upon his ego and hubris. It's his arrogance that is truly the downfall in this situation. What he should've been doing is using his telepathy to broadcast what was happening live to the rest of the world for everyone to see. For them to see what Orchis was doing. Particularly for them to see firsthand when they killed the human hostages that are there on the island. He should've been broadcasting MODOK sharing out the ways that Orchis had tainted their medicines and took humanity hostage. So very disappointed in Charles. Again, it's clear, at least hopefully, the community population survives. But when they come out the other end of this, none of them are going to trust Xavier. And they will be right in that feeling. In his hubris, the great savior of mutantkind is actually the one who chose to sacrifice them all, and ultimately their downfall. And I think that's going to be unforgivable for much of mutantkind. Certainly an exciting story to be sure, but it's hard to see characters like Xavier, Beast, (and Moira right now) irredeemably characterized.

I don't like Mrs. Marvel becoming a mutant. After her mini series she is likely to fade into the background of X-Men books like Gwenpool or never mentioned again like the deviants. What's worse is they are probably going to cover up her Inhuman history even though the writer of her mini series said she won't ignore it. This is especially apparent in her one shot funeral book. There were no Inhuman characters present despite the fact that they were just as close (if not closer) to her as some of the other heroes who attended. Lockjaw, Medusa, Quake, MoonGirl and others. Heck, lockjaw helped her defeat her first supervillain. X-Men titles are just taking everything that's fun and unique in the Marvel universe Kamala, Gwenpool, Daredevil villains, Iron Man, Eternals lore, Spider-Man stories and more. I was on cautious about the krakoa era at first, but was enjoying some of the X-Men books, but now I'm almost disgusted with the X-Men brand.

Juggernaut and Nimrod did have a battle in X-Men issue #194. John Romita Jr. was the main artist. Nimrod defeated Juggernaut by using soundwaves/sonics (I know, I Know comic books). I think Nimrod was defeated by Rouge and Nightcrawler in that issue.

I so dislike these newer X-Men stories with Kirkoa and all this. It's stupid. And the whole back plot of Sentinels and "inevitable doom for the mutants" is such a stupid plot device I just can't bring myself to like these. I keep watching and all in hopes that maybe they'll do away with it, but no, they keep doubling down on it. Honestly, X-Men lost its direction with all the Sentinel nonsense.

Man, you guys are just into whatever they put out now... I remember the days of critical thinking. I'm out.

The first person we ever saw Nimrod fight in his first appearance back in the Chris Claremont days was Juggernaut, and Nimrod decimated him.

So many questions, and I’m a bit of a noob, been getting into marvel comics just this year. 1. I read that Moira’s power is that the timeline restarts when she dies? Well, she died, didn’t she? 2. What is up with mother righteous and using arcane magic to put the Atlantic island into a lantern?? What is that about? Feel like that got skipped over. 3. What would you recommend reading next to continue the plot? I know there’s a bunch of crossovers. Do I have to go get every single one of those? Or is there a more linear path to follow? Every character that doesn't sell books dies and comes back in a form more aligned with the MCU ASAP. They also get a '#1' out of it. Determining who lives and dies and how they change is just that simple.

Okay something I want to make perfectly clear Cyttorak is supposed to be DEAD the source of Juggernaut's power was allegedly killed by The Baby & The Three Mothers when they swept through The Dimension of Crimson Blood consuming ALL MAGIC within it, the evidence of Cyttorak's death is that his throne sit's EMPTY, Cyttorak is BOUND to that dimension he is incapable leaving it, and it is stated NO MAGIC REMAINS. So why do I bring this up I do so because it means the power Cain Marko stole in the pages of The Juggernaut miniseries is only a portion of the power Cain would have IF Cyttorak wasn't dead meaning Cain Marko is much weaker now than he was before the death of Cyttorak

Just to clarify Kamala didn't stop being Inhuman she is a hybrid now, she still has her Inhuman genes and powers but now she also was X-genes and new mutant powers she didn't unlock yet

Actually, Juggernaut was the first Villain Nimrod fought when he was diverted back to the 616 timeline, back in X-men 194

Quick note. Juggernaut is a lot weaker, because he does not get his power from Cyttorack. His suit is powered by Crimson Bands and has the raw energy of the Crimson Gem absorbed into his body. But he no longer has a contract that feeds him power from Cyttorack anymore. Cain Marko has to now figure out how to channel the energy of the Crimson Realm on his own now if he wants any extra power.

Extra context for Juggernaut. He’s not at full power because he’s no longer favored by Cytorrak so he’s using a weaker power source. Just forged some of Cytorrak’s magic into the suit he wears, but he’s not as strong as his classic version.

When you first started naming off the chosen team, my first thought after reading X-men for 30 years on and off, was "wow, what a cool team, they are going to absolutely die within no time." I didn't quite expect Dazzler to get ripped in half on the page turn though. After all the mentions of lazy writing that lead us to this moment, immediately putting the new team through the Nimrod blender was a chef's kiss of a choice. Sure, it doesn't make up for the previous bad writing, but it does quite a bit of heavy lifting in that direction.

Rob you do a great job. Omega level mutant does not mean anything anymore, the X-men should have easily won this fight.

Rob, out of so many comments, I hope that you see this. Six years ago I discovered your channel. I was so elated because you lit up an interest in me on Comics that I didn't know was there. Everything I know about DC and Marvel comics are all thanks to you. For years, your channel has been a source of enjoyment and de-stress. Your passion for what you do is admirable and contagious. *TLDR:* Modern superhero stories have forgotten the importance of friendly neighborhood superheroes and what's happening to Kamala Khan right now is just a really prominent (and sad) example of that. ...I was just going for a brief explanation here but ended up writing a full essay, so here's my explanation behind this claim. I feel like some of the more recent writers of comics (and the MCU) are forgetting some of the biggest points of superheroes and don't get what makes some of the best characters the best characters. Like Ms. Marvel, on paper, has nothing going for her. She's a legacy character of a legacy character without any ties to the previous Marvels before she gets her powers. She's an inhuman, way less popular than the mutants, guaranteed to be less of a hit. She doesn't have particularly strong powers - like, she can grow, shrink, and stretch and that's it! She isn't a super genius, she doesn't have great heroes in her family, and when she was introduced she wasn't exactly a main player - she was just some kid in New Jersey fighting the bad guys in her hometown. But somehow she's still one of the most popular characters in the last decade of comics! She's been in a bunch of superhero teams, gets cameos in the giant crossover events, and started the new Champions! Like, she isn't super powerful and doesn't have some grand destiny or anything like that going for her, and her own comics spent just as much time focusing on her real-life stuff, like her parents and her friends, as much as the shiny superhero fights. Kamala Khan is the perfect Friendly Neighborhood Superhero. She punches the local supervillains, goes on patrols around her neighborhood to catch random thugs, and tries to maintain that normal, teenage life in the same way you have Peter Parker trying to deal with his everyday normal problems along with fighting Doc Ock and Green Goblin. And that's why she works as a character! She's relatable; sometimes her biggest problem is a fight with her parents or drama with her friends or just trying to figure out that work-life balance (which are problems that comic readers can relate to; most people who read comics aren't multibillionaires or in a secret school for super-powered kids). Kamala isn't some ultra-powerful cosmic entity, she's just a kid trying to do the right thing and help out the people around her. She doesn't need to be the most powerful superhero to be one of the best, all she needs to do is help out the people she's fighting for. To paraphrase that deleted scene from the first Spider-Verse, "don't think about saving the world. Think about saving one person." That's what she does. She isn't saving the world every month. She's just helping the people around her as best she can. And that's fucking inspiring! Seeing a character just trying to do the best they can to help their community without some grand destiny or getting whisked away to another world they have to save just feels more grounded than the giant, everyone-who's-anyone-is-here, end of the world crossover events that modern Marvel seems obsessed with. It feels real. Idk how common this experience is, but as a teenager who was overwhelmed with how fucked up the world is, reading a story about someone who couldn't save the whole world, but instead focused on just doing what they could to help those around them was fucking inspiring! Because it made me feel like I could do something and make a difference, cause even though I can't save the world (none of us can!) I can help the people around me and that can make a difference for the better. Didn't mean to make that so personal, but to me, that's what it feels like superhero stories should be about. If the whole world is always in peril it doesn't feel like it's in peril anymore; those just feel like the standard "we're doing this again" stakes. The MCU has done this a lot; the world always needs to be saved and that just doesn't feel like it matters anymore, which sucks, because the world ending should feel big and dangerous! But it just feels boring! The last MCU thing that I had any investment in by the end was the Hawkeye show, and that's because the stakes felt personal and real! There was something to get invested in that wasn't "the fate of the whole world" because there's no point in getting invested in that because they're gonna save the world, obviously, because the stories are so profitable there's no way they end now. Redoing Ms. Marvel's origins, taking her away from her community that her comics spent so much time in, hell, even some of the more recent comics that threw her into deep space to save another planet - it all feels like they just don't get what made Kamala Khan a good superhero. She didn't need to be the greatest or the best, she just needed to do good.

After all these years, the Juggernaut still don't have a writer, they treat him like a punching bag

I don't know if enough emphasis is placed on exactly what Jean did. Especially, shielding everyone from the Shockwave of Nimrod's arrival, then creating a sonic boom again when she threw Juggernaut at him then directed the Shockwave of said attack back at him.

Why do they always make the X-mens backs against the wall, they have some of the most powerful beings but always get wiped out. It’s a broken record at this point

Ms Mavel is such a failed character that they killed her in spiderman's comic "cause hers was canceled" then bring her back in Xmen to try and shoehorn her into a slightly more popular comic. It's absolutely pathetic they won't just let this terrible character dissappear.

So Prodigy is a former Young X-man. He can duplicate any skill anyone else knows by heart. So like Dr. Strange's magic, Wolverine's martial arts. Cyclop's tactics. you get the idea. After M-Day he was depowered and the Cookoos removed a mental block so he could access all the skills he had previously absorbed. If this is a clone, I don't know what that means for his powers.

I'm sooooo glad Prodigy is on the team and with Synch!!!!!!!! Prodigy's powers are like Synch but with knowledge, skills, etc... the two of them together is going to make them both Beyond Omega level!!! As their powers work off of each other creating an ever more powerful circuit in each of their powers and abilities!!!! I love the possibilities for them together. And, please don't hate on Dazzler as she's not as useless as some like to say & is potentially another Omega. The implications/applications of her powers are quite powerful when utilized properly; and on the team with Synch and Prodigy ❤❤❤🎉

How they played Kamala’s death having seen her rebirth was completely bullshit. Ignoring the fact they killed her off in a Spider-Man book, the literal speed at which she died and came back negates the need for the Fallen Friend comic they dropped. They could’ve ignored that and just jumped straight to the hellfire gala. I swear we need to just give Marvel Editorial a slap every time they do something this stupid, because even the comic here basically hinted "we're going to mess with your parents minds so they forget you died." I.e. we are going to pretend all of this never happened. On another note though, I’m pretty sure that means the X-Men's resurrection protocols are on indefinite hold now. Death matters again (until further notice).

If Khan is coming to xmen can Bishop become a free agent and do some intergalactic travel while learning how to use his power more efficiently(like say he is struck by lightning and he uses that energy to be durable as luke cage. At the same time can use kinetic energy to keep himself super strong like Gentle).

Huh? So, what happened to Ms. Marvel? Is she just a footnote in this whole X-Men storyline now?

Suddenly, I'm starting to miss Chris Claremont X-Men.

Magneto of some sort seems to be in the new Scarlett Witch book. Granted, it could be an imposter but he has the traditional Magneto powers.

The more things change the more they stay the same. There is no "happily ever after" for the X-Men. Eventually it all comes crumbling down yet again.

There’s gala, there’s ultimate invasion, and maybe a cosmic level threat with the lost one, and then there’s Immortal Thor where Thanos gets the black Infinity stone that’s likely a crossover event as well. DC for all the flak maybe does one or two a year max

First of big thanks to you Rob and your ongoing enthusiasm. It must be hard sometimes. Must admit Captain Marvel scrubs up very nicely for the gala. That's quite an outfit. Whether it's good in combat is another matter. So Marvel is rewriting Ms Marvel to match her Tv Series mutant origins. Did they really need to kill her (and in such a poor way?) Wyn looks like a young Jason Wyngarde (Mastermind). Now the rant: First off how pray tell can a human Moira McTaggert sneak up on Jean Grey if EVERYONE else is frozen? Introduce a new team of radically different X-Men roster and kill them on the next page - that's just a hack excuse for shock and gore. Didn't we do this already with Sinister? This is just Sins of Sinister all over again. No one believes they have killed all those mutants, again. 6 months, a year and they'll pull the Dallas trick yet again and it all was a dream. Its not innovative, its repetition just is a slightly different way - and they even used another Sinister to do it! Sigh. DC is no better (Batman who Laughs becoming a god). The Avengers are supposed to be Earth;s Mightest Heroes but compared to the Omega Level mutants even Thor and Captain Marvel are jokes by comparison. How can anyone relate to these people. It's seems to be just buying into the internet idiots who are fixated on who is more powerful. This is what has irritated me with a lot of Marvel recently. They are suffering power creep in ridiculous ways as a way of raising the stakes. It just depresses me thinking back to the Great series from Civil War to Siege. That was a great saga. Everything since from Heroic Age onwards has been disappointing (with a few exceptions like Secret Empire although even that was just a tweak of the Dark Reign story line which ended up being solved by that good ol' mcguffin the Cosmic Cube).
