We had the Easy Plus drinks package on our recent MSC Cruise. We’ll give you a quick run down of what it includes and let you know if we think it was worth it!
I have about 5 or 6 cocktails during the day. another 2 in the evening, a glass of wine and maybe some shots late at night. I think it is worth it. For people who dont care about fancy drinks, they can get away with it using the easy cheap package
For me i enjoy the top shelf drinks & i think i still save money on buying them as i go since i only drink 3 a day usually; but the drinks package that includes my favorite the Jamaican Paradise is $80 a day lol 😱 even with gratuities and getting this fancy drink with top shelf liquor i don’t think 3 drinks a day for me is adding up to $80 so the math ain’t mathin’ 😂
WE have a cruise planned with MSC. My husband doesn't drink at all. I may have a an occasional drink but definitely not worth it for us at the current price. I think its $64 a day (for both of us) for the non alcoholic package. With a couple of specialty coffees for hubby and a couple diet cokes for me every day, makes more sense for us to pay as we go. We wouldn't come close to $64. Also, you are at ports for a number of days not using the package. It is definitely dependent on your consumption it seems. Do you know if you get notified on the website or by email if there are deals in any capacity with MSC. Whether its a drink package of room upgrades etc? Thanks for the great vids. I'm just exploring them:)
Great question, Catherine - MSC doesn't usually send out notices about drink package sales unless it's part of a promo to book a cruise. I'd check back at least once a week in the time leading up to your cruise. Coffees are close to Starbucks prices - at least they were on the Meraviglia. As far as upgrades, they will reach out with offers to upgrade - at least they did a couple of times for us. We were offered at least twice to go from a verandah cabin to a Yacht Club interior for a discounted price. I love my verandah, though, so I just couldn't do it. I may though at some point, just to check out Yacht Club amenities.
“Some frozen cocktails?” Is there a list? I was on the msc Divina a couple years ago & my friends had the easy plus drink package & i was drinking Jamaican paradise & all the bartenders said they had to pay full price no discount every time they got me a drink but the Miami Vice was complimentary. How the heck are we supposed to know which drinks over $10 are the full up-charge and which you can can pay extra for? 🍹🤔
I've heard from several people that the policy before was that if the price of the drink exceeded the allowed price, you had to pay in full. That's no longer the case - or at least it hasn't been on any of my MSC cruises. The only exception was Hola! Tacos, which didn't let you pay the difference for margaritas on some of the drinks packages. All of the bars have a menu with pricing, and many had a list of mixed drinks and beverages specifically included on the Easy Plus package. You can ask for them to show you before you order.
They do! We were told by several of the servers and bartenders we could pay the difference. The only place we were specifically told you couldn’t was in Hola! Tacos - you can’t pay the difference for their frozen drinks.
It includes frozen drinks up to the $10 price, and on our recent sailing, that includes a frozen mudslide, frozen daiquiri, Blue Hawaiian, among others.
You can order a soda - or any beverage - without a package, but there is a charge. Drinks included with your cruise include tea, coffee, juice, milk, and water.
