Believe it or not, we get sooo many questions abut what to wear in the Yacht Club and around the ship, that we decided to devote an episode to addressing those concerns. Many of us feel like we might "stick out" or "not fit in" inside the Yacht Club... and our clothes might contribute to that. Let's take a (somewhat) deep dive about what you might want to bring with you and the Theme Nights you might want to plan on.

One of the reasons we love cruising on MSC is we feel they are overall more elegant. We love to dress up at times, so we really take advantage of it when we cruise with MSC. It wouldn't be out of the norm for me to wear a tie on a normal night on MSC and wear a suit on elegant night. We don't really do this when cruising other cruise lines. We are looking forward to cruising in the YC and it helps knowing how people tend to dress in there as we had no real info on this. We also love the White Night. I usually wear something typical of a white Guayabera, etc. for this as they are comfy and light. Melana will tend to wear a light white dress. 0 The Bellissima, Meraviglia, and Vituosa all have LED Ceilings. All of the "Sea" ships (Seaside, Seaview, Seashore, and Seascape) are EVO class. They don't have the LED Ceilings, but we loved cruising on the Seaside as it is really based around outdoor spaces. The Seashore was the same basic design but didn't have as much outdoor feel to it, although it is still more than most other ships.

My new favorite podcast! ❤ This is how I get my MSC fix in-between sailings now haha 3 MSC YC sailings booked between now and April 2025 and anxiously awaiting MSC to release their summer 2025 sailings (apart from World America and Seascape Galveston inaugural seasons).

I like dressing up for dinner. Personally I would never wear shorts to the MDR on any ship. There are plenty of options on most ships if you want to wear shorts.Back in the day on or off a cruise people dressed up going out to a nice dinner. Enjoying these! Great job

MSC is so whatever-you-like in their onboard experience… really a refreshing way to cruise! We accidentally wore shorts to dinner one night (forget what we were wearing and just cruised on in). I asked the maitre’d if he thought it was ok, not offensive to others… he answered “you, my friend, look better in shorts”. Ha! (We have to get a cruise booked together… MSC or not!!!)

My favorite new podcast! We are MSC addicts and this is amazing way to get my fix in between sailings. Tropical party nights are usually held on nights at Ocean Cay, Space Parties are typically on sailings that spend a night or start in Port Canaveral. Flower party has morphed into a 70’s 80’s 90s night. White night is pretty obvious. Most sailings I’ve been on white night is second to last evening and Gala night has a separate Gatsbyish party. Italian night is always the last evening and has a farewell party.😊

Thanks!!! Great info… we have *got* to dance the night away at a Space Party someday!!!! 🧑‍🚀👩‍🚀

One great thing about MSC is those that do dress up do not look down on those that do not. There is a decency and politeness I have seen in Europeans and Canadians that sadly us Americans have left behind. A lot less entitled passengers flouting their loyalty pins or medallions, and cruise cards. I love the more friendly vibes you get on MSC. They just need to add more included dining and I'd give them a 10 out of 10. I love this format, complete with pets demanding attention and Beth and Chris giggles.

Sorry I'm late - needed to get home from my first Virgin Voyages cruise and check the PSP pretty schedules saved from MSC back in January. Flower Glory party was called Sunshine party on my sailings on the Seashore and Meraviglia. It's heavily disco, though not exclusively. MSC has a great playlist on Spotify based on this, btw! The evening parties, along with the AMAZING CRUISE STAFF who run them, are what I loved most about the two MSC cruises I've been on. My Meraviglia sailing was 11 nights: 1. Sunshine party 2. Gala / Silent Disco 3. Space party (we had just been in Canaveral that day - and it is *not* a silent disco) 4. Rock Star party 5. Glow party 6. Carnival party 7. Silent disco #2 (I was sososo happy to see a second one!!!) 8. Tropical (we had been at Ocean Cay that day) 9. White party 10. Gala #2 / Gatsby party 11. "Star for a Night" - I think this was some kind of karaoke, with live music instead of pre-recorded - I stuck with regular karaoke

Woo hoo!! Counting down-next friday in Miami overnight then Sail-away Saturday eve on MSC Seascape-Yacht Club-Eastern Caribbean. Just got info from one of the facebook sites for the cruise of the theme nights. We'll have 2 Gala, a 70s-80s-90s night, a tropical night, a rock and roll party and a white night. My husband and I easily have clothes for the gala, tropical and white nights, but the others are too vague for a normal wardrobe. Don't think we'll be kicked out tho if we are not themed when we show up. Hey if ya'll are looking for material for your cruise cast, I would like to suggest topics like facebook pages that are created for specific cruise and maybe the scams that may show up there. (Just recently heard about the "My plans were cancelled, can you take my ducks onboard? (for a price) scam". I'm sure there are others in addition to that one. Love ya'll's videos and ya'll are awesome too!

Flower glory party, pull out the bell bottom jeans , bandana around the head, and go bare foot to the party. Also, may the Shwartz be with you😅

LOL with the Swartz be with you! Haven't had bell bottom jeans since I was in the Navy before the pixel camos. Bandanas tho are common since the pandemic. I still like to dress in the beatnik style during the cold season. ✌

We sailed YC on Seascape early December. Men were required long pants for evening meal in the YC dining room. I turned up in dress shorts & polo and was turned away. Breakfast & lunch was whatever. Gala night we had an Eastern European family. (Think Russian Sopranos) and the patriarch came dressed in Addidas track suit, White t-shirt & heavy gold necklace. His wife barely wore a gold sequined dress that covered next to nothing. Nice clean jeans were common too.

U were really turned away for wearing shorts to dinner? This goes against what others have said, including a close friend of mine that has worn shorts on 4 MSC cruises so far (3 of them YC). Were they sporty shorts maybe? I'd hate to have to bring that many pants...
@elsie911
@elsie911 4 месяца назад
@@connect32gm No I definitely had on Khaki dress shorts. They even had a notice up at the Maitre D desk explaining in 4 languages! Breakfast/lunch was whatever. Clean jeans were acceptable too for dinner provided they had no rips or holes. Maitre D was very discreet & apologetic. He didn’t make a fuss or big deal out of it.
@Taste-Try-Travel
@Taste-Try-Travel 4 месяца назад
Have a feeling the maître d’ has a lot of say in who is allowed to wear shorts and when in the YC dining room. Officially, no shorts… so a Maître d’ can enforce that as they see fit.

Thanks!!!! Usually the cruise before Christmas is where you start seeing the holiday decor. But it does vary from ship to ship.
