Thank you so much for this very well produced video of MSC Preziosa dining. The reason being we were in April on MSC Europa 3 week cruise Dubai to Barcelona. THE FOOD WAS DISMAL in main dining room. Everyone was complaining. They virtually slapped the food on a plate, no garnish, no presentation, they did not taste test the food at all. I tried Minestrone soup 3 times and 3 times completely different. Last was disgusting, looked like dishwater with veges floating around. We are looking at MSC Preziosa for cruise Northern Europe, Hamburg, Norway, Scotland Iceland. I really like the itinerary. Can you please tell me whether Aurea is worth $1200 for 3 weeks for two people? One cruise company has got me a premier cabin upgrade, as I want a 18sqm cabin. BUT the other company My Cruises has the drinks package EASY PLUS for only $700 each so thats only $38 a day each. We do have coffee, dont drink heaps but other packages I think you need to drink 6 drinks a day which we wouldn't. What are your thoughts, I quite understand if you don't have time to answer. Im trying to find out more on Aurea on this ship really to see if worth it.
We have been on four different MSC ships and found the food quality different on each, even though the menus were the same. The Divina had the best main dinner food. The seasoned chefs and staff have it figured out. (Seascape, Divina, Euribia and Preziosa) We do not purchase any drink packages. We buy occasional soft drinks and cocktails throughout the trip. This way, it comes out much less than the daily $38 break-even cost that some feel they must meet for it to make sense. Regarding the Aurea experience, we do not think it is worth it. If you have Voyager status you already get the priority boarding. Just our opinion. Hope you enjoy your next trip!
Yes, there are tables for two. If you are assigned to sit with a large group, find the maître d before dinner and request a table for two. The best time to do this is on the first day and around two hours before the early dinner in your assigned dining area. They may need a day to make the arrangements but should be able to accommodate you. Remember, there may be a lot of other people doing the same thing. Always buddy up to the maître d and remember their names. Hope this helps.
