MSC Seaside Food - Is it like this Preziosa Buffet: Breakfast, Lunch, Tea Time, Dinner?

Cruises change .. this was filmed a year ago. They do listen and improve. This was only the buffet... they have two buffets, one does feature drinks

They have much more than this video shows .he only showed the smaller buffet on deck 16 there is a bigger one on deck 8. I'm glad most of these commenters will stick with carnival.much more food than what was shown.ive sailed carnival and celebrity.celebrity was better but carnival is garbage.walmart of the seas.

Is what is low quality about the food? Is the food you buy at home completely different? I am quite sure you feed better on a MSC cruise ship than you ever did at home and more choice. Ridiculous.

Cruised twice with MSC great value for money and the restaurant meals were excellent, the buffet is good for breakfast and light lunch.

I have been on 3 msc cruises and they are all the same the food is soooooo bad and the service unprofessional people no one to help deal with the problems stay away from the msc a waste of hard earned money

Technically we pay for everything when we buy a cruise. Cheap food is one of the components that allows MSC to keep low cruise fares.

Anything other than Margherita is not a real pizza though

Im going on this cruise in 3 Days and the food looks great to me man.

Also doing an MSC cruise soon. If food is all people are looking forward to, then they're missing the point. Imagine what hundreds of people complaining about food must sound like to others who are literally starving to death.

I lost ten pounds on my cruise last year because most the food was inedible processed slop. They need healthier options.

basicly you are full of shit i have been on 18 cruises all out of Miami this one had the best buffet of any of them that includes Royal Caribbean carnival and NCL

Hi JS, If you cruise in Europe you'll need to pay for table water and coffee in the main dining room. On our Med cruise the beverage dispenser in the buffet was just closed at lunch time: only tea/coffee and tap water were available. The beverage "system" for the Caribbean cruises is the only thing that is different from general MSC product. It's basically the same as on other cruise lines, but selection and quality may be subpar. MSC is not a cruise line for foodies - to say it nicely.

Thanks for responding. I'll be in the Caribbean. I hope I don't have to pay for coffee in the main dining room. I hardly ever drink coffee in the evg., but to charge for coffee when the food is included just seems a bit off.

My subjective opinion: awful. Why? I like the pizza that is crusty underneath and juicy inside. MSC pizza is thin and rubbery/dry.

The lines I have been on all change from day to day for lunch and dinner but stay the same for breakfast.

No change. Hamburgers wrapped. Food overall at the lowest level (compared to Carnival, RCI, NCL).

Carnival is wayyyyyyy better than MSC food & cheaper to cruise to the same islands, too many up sales

Just got off a 15 day Hawaii trip on Star Princess. Food was not awful, but certainly not like on the Regal. The older ships seem to really get shortchanged when it comes to food quality. I'll take your word on Yacht Club & skip it.. We booked a 14 day back to back on upcoming Enchanted Princess next year. I'll check Sky Princess for a feel of the quality in Club Class. If not better than Star Princess, will cancel booking & go back to Oceania.

Every cruise line is different but they all have certain food and drink items that they upsell. Carnival for example gives you free tea and lemonade all day and free milk, chocolate milk, coffee, Oj and some kind of fruit punch for breakfast. Water is free but not the bottled water. Soft serve is free all day and night but other lines charge for ice cream. All lines have free and paid food. There is enough free to keep anyone satisfied. You have to do your research to figure out what each line charges for.

No, food is free. Freshly squeezed juice is extra, as on most cruise lines.

not all Have you read what is "Free" (Complimentary) on Saga cruises?, all the finest menu's in any of the restaurants irrespective of how cheap the cabin. Once on board everybody is equal, rich and poor.

You are complaining about the kind of people who choose that cruise line.

For fantastically good buffets at no extra cost and the use of any restaurant, try Saga Ocean cruises. All inclusive and very civilised, waiter service from the buffet if you do not want to stand at the counter or carry a plate with one hand. But waiter service is normal in the dining room, on the aft deck and in bars at no extra cost. When Saga say their cruises are all inclusive they mean it. even the transport from home to ship. I went on a four-week cruise to the Caribbean in February 2017 and a car for 250 miles to Southampton was included. Same again this year for three weeks in the Mediterranean in February 2018. And we were going in and out of ports where there were those big cruise ships like blocks of white flats stuck for days in one port because it was not safe for them to leave the harbour. You only need to look at the classic lines of Saga Sapphire or Saga Pearl to see why they are so good and stable crossing the Atlantic in winter.

The breakfest was the best part of the day for me. The diner was not good.

@@cruiseadmiral If people do their research and know what they are booking and manage their expectations accordingly then that would be ok. If you are used to cruising other lines, I don’t think this would meet your normal expectations for a buffet though.

It is up to you to insert more sound absorbent materials if you are getting so much noise, and of course you are making it worse because they have to shriek and shout to be heard over the piped music. I have just returned today from a three week cruise with another line which had no piped music anywhere, so all the passengers could hold conversations over their meal tables in a civilised way: much less stressful. Noise level causes stress, especially if it is not your choice of noise, /"music".

How does one gauge "horrendous"... Seems a little sensationalist to me. Horrendous to me would be trying to eat on an airport taxiway.

I'm going by the background noise on your video. There was another video of a family having a meal and they could hardly understand each other without screaming.
