Had to break it to you but in the event of a genuine emergency its gonna be more than chaotic. Think perhaps you need to do more research before you book your next cruise, there really is a shipnout there fir everyone its just a matter of finding things that are important to you in advance.
There is chaotic and there is chaotic and on the Msc Virtuosa it was unnecessary, we have never been on a cruise that was so chaotic due to the lack of organisation, and we go on many many cruises.
I’m assuming from this video this is your first MSC Cruise? But you have travelled on other cruise lines. OK let’s at least get the facts right to start off. All Cruise lines issue a cruise card except Princess which offer the bracelet. We cruise a lot … 5 cruises this year alone (2 MSC) in fact we were on MSC World Europa last month ex Barcelona and we’re on Virtuosa (again) in 10 days time going to the Canaries. Embarkation has always been quick but this is because in Europe MSC operates rather like a large ferry picking up and dropping off at each port. So there is Never a full ship doing a Muster ! In Southampton when we did a Christmas Cruise on embarkation day we viewed the video and rang the requested number, the next day (a sea day) announcements mopped up the passengers who hadn’t turned up) yes it is a legal requirement but short of dragging passengers physically out of their cabins there’s no way to enforce it. Restaurants … 4 main dining rooms plus an Aqua and Yacht club for those guests. The only line I am aware of that lets you dine wherever you like is Celebrity Edge class ships. We were on Apex a couple of years ago and chose whatever themed restaurant we wanted for dinner. On Reflection last year like everybody else we were allocated a Restaurant ( but we chose Freedom Dining) with an early slot (our choice) on Virtuosa we changed our slot to early the second night. Thus time we already have an early slot. In the dining rooms there are paper menus available, I usually bring them up on my iPad . As for drinks availability are you aware that MSC have waiter call buttons on every table! The first line to do so I believe, believe me if you need it on Virtuosa try World Europa which is 60,000 tons larger! Of the two we actually preferred Virtuosa for the Buffet and Adult only Sky Lounge. Nothing on WE for adults only (although we did get an upgraded pass to the Yacht Club Solarium) It appears to be fashionable to take a pop at MSC, sure they have issues but their Guest Relations department is first class and will bend over backwards to help. Overcrowding on any line is a problem whilst kids travel free. Given that MSC are much cheaper than most other lines is it any wonder that they travel at full capacity. I have no connection with MSC but please don’t post impressions which are almost totally negative and some incorrect. Vlogs are supposed to be informative and balanced. You may well not travel on MSC again, but they are beautiful ships. I suppose in fairness you may change your mind in the coming days ?
Thank you for your comment/opinion. As this is OUR first impression it wasn't the best and we are entitled to express OUR opinion and OUR experience on OUR channel. Everything we stated was from OUR personal experience, so everything we said was true facts that we encountered. Not everyone has to enjoy everything you do. Everyone has their OWN experience and opinion. When you say it's never a full muster, were you on our ship at that time? No I don't think so, therefore you did not see what we saw. We have done many cruises and this was the first time that EVERYONE had to do the muster whereas other ships allow you to do it as soon as you board, rather than waiting for a specific time.
