I can believe it ran the reluctor wheel will still work to generate an A/C signal to fire the plugs by triggering the transistor in a Mopar box or msd as long as the gap is there. Just like the flywheel magnet on a lawn mower engine the rust doesn't stop it from firing. But still I would clean it up and put some crc 2-26 spray on it to slow down corrosion. Are you near saltwater air?
Yeah, i was being a bit hyperbolic there. after i looked a bit more the end wasn’t really that bad. Not near ocean… way up northern NY. Can literally see canada 🇨🇦 across the st, lawrence river. Truthfully 0 real engine work up here. Gotta go 2 hours south to Syracuse / brewerton to see todd at comp wedge racing. Maybe something in Ottawa, or nicks garage in Montreal. Or all the way over to Burlington vt for dwayne porter. Being this isolated has helped in my searching ability though… i have been lucky having had contact, and usually learned things in conversations with big time guys over the years. They’ve all been mostly very nice and helpful. I actually had a conversation with Herb mccandless when I was like 19 and just getting started, super cool man … talking with a kid basically.
