The time has finally come to test our A320 home cockpit with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Some tweaks will still be required to slightly improve the 180 degree panoramic view across the three 75 inch screens in the sim but we are calling it airworthy for now! The software interface between the A320 external model (JeeHell FMGS freeware running across three computers) and MSFS2020 is enabled by a custom "mod" providing a temporary solution and is not quite yet the long-term solution the developer is working on in parallel. Some features are still unavailable, still we wanted to put the whole system through a test flight and enjoy the progress made so far.
For this test we are doing a short flight around the Alps, from Zurich (LSZH) to Marseilles (LFML). We will be flying for Swiss Air with real-world traffic around us (and sometimes coming directly at us...). This was mostly a fun little flight to enjoy the MSFS2020 visuals. Mistakes were definitively made and we took some liberty with traffic separation and touch down zone (and I'm sure plenty of other things).

Don’t tell me this is in your basement. This looks so cool to have a flight simulator like that.

Thanks. This is actually in a "bedroom". I wish I had a basement so that I could build the shell around it.

what is your software config? Jeehell and FS 2020 and which Aribus Aircraft? would love to hear drom you. Just starting my project.

Originally I started with the JeeHell FMGS freeware and P3D. That configuration is fully supported and works well (btw it uses the old Project Airbus freeware for the exterior 3D model), There is now a "mod" that allows you to use the same JeeHell FMGS freeware with MSFS 2020. In that case I believe the FBW A320 exterior model is used. The challenge is that it is not fully supported and several features don't work or are "wonky". So I have recently moved to the ProSim A320 software, which does fully support MSFS 2020 (and failures). It uses its own exterior 3D model. If you have additional questions, the easiest way would be for you to use the Contact Us form on our website: www.flightpathsimulation.club/contact-us/ I am always happy to share my experience. Best of luck with your project!

In the Airbus A320 family, the engine master switches are located on the center pedestal, behind the throttle levers. Are they not prone to accidental flip? I would rather have them higher up for safety not to be able to flip by accident during the flight. What is your opinion?

The key switches are "gated", meaning that you have to lift them before you can physically move them. It's the case for the engine master switches as well as the flaps, parking brake, weather radar, and a few others. So there is no risk of flipping them accidentally.
